I have this friend and I dont like how she tries to copy me. I am not saying that this is just my judgement but everybody in my group of friends says so. She copies the way I dress or whatever I want to do. Like last week, I went to this mall with another friend. I had this really cute dress that I had reserved from a shop that I like. My other friend told her I have a reserved dress there. To my surprise, just yesterday she bought that same dress. I am just crossed at her. Trying to get things that I like too. She used to buy the same stuffs that I buy. Like when I was in college, she bought the same school shoes that I got. And my friends told me that she even copies how I say things. Even my own expressions. How annoying is that?

When I was younger I had a friend and he did the same exact thing. The worst part of it was that he went around telling everyone he had bought things first and I was copying off him. I am sorry to say this but eventually your friendship with her will end, she is jealous of you. Starting off it might appear to be a compliment to you but it really is jealously, she wants too much to be you that's why she copies everything from you including the way you say things. I think you should try and distance yourself from her.

Yes, I can sense there is jealousy, too. I should try to distance myself from her. Thank you for responding.

That's pretty annoying alright. Maybe shynie, she looked up at you like idol. You know, when someone idolize a person, sometimes they tried to imitate him/her, wears all things like him/her and act like one. That's exactly like your friend here, looked from the story you wrote. Have you ever told her to stop copying you all the time ? And told her that she should be being herself instead copying other people ?

Thank you for the response. Anyway, I did not tell her or even try to tell her but some of my friends did. I don't want it to come from me since I don't want to offend her. I may feel flattered about the situation but for me, it's not good when you don't have your own identity and just copies it from someone else.

It really sucks and will piss me off! try to buy stuff which she can't find any other like its the last pair that the mall got but I'm sure its not always true to all products but just try it! maybe she idolized you? I have not experienced that yet, in our dorm when I was in college, no matter how much we like the blouse/dress of our doormates once she got it already, no one will buy same thing!she is also pity, she has no originality!and very dependent on you! if that will make her happy, let her do it anyway, I'm sure she can't copy your beauty...right?

you should get rid of her. i mean, you should stay way from her. if you cannot stop her imitating you. she is something that is not good, there will come a time that she might even so something bad about you. just to become you.

It's amusing at first when a friend admires your taste in fashion, sports, food and the like. But yes, it could become a little annoying and sometimes a bit creepy. Have you ever watched Single White Female?

She really adores you. And also she is insecure on how she look. Maybe she wants to be like you. If it annoys you, you could talk to her and tell her.
