My boyfriend is watching Monster and I HATE horror movies!!!

I am trying to focus on mylot 100% while my boyfriend is lying on the sofa watching Monster as I cant stand scary movies!
Normally I would have something that I like watching or listen to music but instead Im listening to Monster!
What do you do when someone is watching something you hate whether it be a movie or tv programme???
Do you be polite and watch it or do you do other things to distract yourself so you dont have to watch it??

Couples do not have to do everything together.
Politely tell him that you do not want to watch
the movie and that you are going into a different
room to do whatever it is you want to do instead.
At some other time, you should explain to him that you
do not like that type of movie and you will not be
watching them with him, but you will be happy to watch
other types of movies with him.

Although that is really good advice, the computer is in the living room downstairs which meant I could have sent him upstairs to watch the movie but then since it was on sky I wouldnt havent been able to turn the channel over as we dont have that thing that allows you to watch different channels in different rooms although that would be very handy!! It would also mean him coming downstairs to have a cigerette as I dont allow him to smoke upstairs.
He knows I dont like scary movies but since he does, he normally watches them at night when Im sleeping.

I usually find ways to pre-occupy myself doing other things. (Which usually means spending time on my laptop, or listening to my iPod)
Honestly tho, I don't think Monster is a really scary movie. (You're talking about the Charlize Theron film right?) I guess it could be considered scary, for me it really just left me feeling really uneasy because of the things she went through, and ultimately what her life became...

Yeah thats the film, I only find it scary because of teh things she does to teh blokes after she has slept with them. Shes like a black widow!!
I tried to distract myself with mylot but since we were both in the same room, was abit tricky!!

I am not bothered by scary movies more gory movies like Final Destination that I cannot stand! I would just make them watch it in another room or immerse myself in a book! Once my other half talked me into watching one with him, the first and last and I made him be very nice to me for a couple of days after that! lol xxx

i am like you and will get on my computer and get onto mylot,my daughter likes the scary movies as well and i just think some of them are just silly,so i prefer to be here chatting to all my friends here on mylot,then when they are in bed i will watch what i want.cheers sue
