Do you like to eat the crust or end pieces?

I love to eat the crusts and end pieces off of any bread, especially sweet breads like pumpkin bread, etc. I also like the end pieces on regular bread, especially when they are toasted. I like pie crusts, too. Does anyone else like these pieces?

Yeah, I like crusts of all kind. I mostly like pizza crusts when the pizza is still warm or hot.

Darlene :))) it has to be very fresh bread and a very buttery pie crust for me to like the crusts or the end pieces. Now sweetbreads have a whole differant meaning for me. Sweetbreads is the name of a dish made of the thymus gland or pancreas of a young animal, usually a lamb or calf. Or any other breads made from offal of animals..... yuck do not so them at all. however here in the south they are still a delicacy. They can keep them. I really am as bad as the kids if the crust gets hard I do not like it.

I am the exact opposite! lol I always avoid eating crust on most breads and pies. I'm not really sure why; I guess I just don't like the taste of it as much, and it sometimes seems a little tougher to me. I don't mind eating crust on some of the sweeter breads though since they don't seem as much like crust to me. lol

Thanks for answering. I know a lot of people who cut the crusts off the bread when they eat a sandwich. Take care!

Yeah, that's what some people do in this one neighborhood. Some people also dry them and make them into breadcrumbs.

if i'm really hungry, i could eat the crust what ever it is, but mostly i only eat crust if its thin and kinda soft crust, because i have no patience in chewing hard bread or crust. i feel like i'm gonna choke or something if i eat hard crust so its case to case for me. :-) anyways our dog loves the hard crust so its not wasted at all. :-)

That's good. I used to eat the thinly slice bread that had a really soft crust. But, now I like the harder crusts like the ones I get when I bake bread, though it does make it harder to cut.

That is unique of you, really. I am more a person who would eat the main pie and leave the crust for dogs or trashbins. I am sorry about that. I know it is not a good habit. That's why when Pizza hut invented the stuffed crust pizza, I begun to eat crusts already. Good thing about that is that they made the otherwise plain crusts a little tasty. So, I am one among the millions who have gone really for crusts because they already stuffed. But I admire you. That's a habit that is able to do justice to the pie. I am sure a lot of pies are dying to line up to you on your next meal...lol Thanks for sharing.

Sometimes, you can use the crusts for things like bread pudding or something yummy. But, I know there are lots of people who don't like the crusts and that's OK, too.

I love pie crust and the corner pieces of cake. The corner is not as moist as the middle and it is the best. I do not like the corners of bread though.

Yeah, I always ask for the end pieces of the cake because that's where all the frosting is. But, on sugary breads, all the sugar gathers at the end and on the crust.

Actually, no, and I give those parts to my husband as they are his favorite. That works out really well! It is especially cool when we make a grilled cheese sandwiches. I have one of those plastic things that cuts the center out of the bread that we use on those, and I get all the gooey inside and he gets all the crunchy outside. A marriage made in heaven.

I just noticed that I like the end pieces last week when someone brought in raisin bread to work. I basically just cut all the crust and end pieces off and at those and let everyone else have the middle.

I'm not a crust person with sliced bread generally. Only if I make a grilled cheesed sandwich, I don't know, something about the crust is special when I do that. I do eat the crusts on other sweet breads though but still it isn't my actual favourite part. Sometimes when I bake I cut the end piece and then cut a slice and eat that, if my dad eats the end that's fine, if not, I'll eat it when the rest of the bread is gone.

I don't think you are alone as they actually will make frozen sandwiches without the crust. I think I saw some at Sam's Club called "uncrustables". I have been meaning to try those, but I don't want a big box of them.

Me, too! I prefer the toasty taste it has, but my most favorite has got to be the pizza crust! Which is why I prefer pan pizza over the thin crust ones!

I don't eat pizza that often, but when I do, I don't usually have a choice in what type of crust that I get. But, I usually eat the crust first.
