Men playing bingo?

It used to be that men laughed at their wives who went out to play bingo, or they wouldn't allow them to go, saying they were wasting their hard earned money. That was about 30 years ago. I used to go to the bingo and there were just a handful of men playing. Now I just went to the bingo recently and there were just as much men there as women playing. Why the change of heart? well here we have the government getting in on the deal and there is a drawing every night in every bingo hall in Quebec and the grand prize can be as high as 100, 000. the men want in on the action, they are not laughing at their wives anymore. do you play bingo? Does your spouse? Have you noticed there are many more men playing? Does your spouse hate it if you go to play bingo? what is the biggest amount you can win at your bingo hall? Is it run by the government, a private business or the church?

My husband and I used to go to the bingo hall with my mom years ago. He loved to play the cards with us too. We don't go to the bingo halls anymore though. We never won anything and we cannot afford to go play and lose money either. We like to play bingo online sometimes though if we have the time to. I think the biggest amount was about a thousand dollars for coverall or something like that. It all depended on how much the hall took in for th night. I see alot of men playing. they like that money and the bingo hall food too and the pull tabs.

I used to play bingo quite a bit but not so often anymore. One is due to cost but the other is it takes a lot out of me. Here at least it is still more women then men. I go to private commercial bingos. They aren't run by the government at all. They are businesses and each night there is a charity that sponsors it. They get so much of the profits for the night. I'm not that lucky at bingo but some others are. I look at it as a night out and with a slim chance of earning my money back. I know some win all the time at it but not me.

My husband can't hate me for going to bingo as I don't go! LOL Both of us have gone to play bingo before, but this was before we were married so it has been some years ago. We went for the sake of my mom as she had been waiting for me to be old enough to play bingo so I could go with her. I don't recall if there was as many men as there were women playing. All I know was that I was bored out of my mind! LOL Even when I won $250 on one of the games the next time I had gone I wanted to take the money and get the heck out of there! LOL But there was still more bingo to play and as it was already paid for I stayed (and no I didn't win any more money that night). I believe one of the bingo halls I've gone to was a private business and the other was a church, though I could be wrong. Like I said it's been years since I went.

I don't play bingo, but my sister loves to play bingo. I don't think they are run by the government.

I love bingo, I haven't been in a long time about 2years but when I did I had a blast. My sister took me for a treat. I won $20. It was runned as a private business I guess in town. There were alot of men there when I went as well and my brother in law is a Bingo freak he loves it and they go all the time his father loved it as well. Men do tend to gripe about the money but they don't when it is won then they want a little piece of the action.. Some say in the end you spend out more then you win, but when your having fun and it keeps you from pulling your hair out from boredom I think it is well worth the price of a few bingo sheets and a ink dotter.I never knew though that the government runned bingo halls. I know some churches did though. Good to know and I hope the next time I get to play bingo I will have a chance at the big pot nothing more exciting to have almost all the squares dotted and win. We have a system I know it is not to everyones liking but when we go as a group and someone in that group wins we all split the win equally so everyone goes home with a little money and a little is better then nothing.BINGO Anyone?

I've never played bingo except in a party type setting. Just doesn't interest me.
