Tell Me What Rule I Broke and I'll Fix It!

It seems today in some inboxes I made top of the list in mylot discussions according to their mylot digest - personalized to their interests of course. Save the applause. It seems that using the word mylot in a discussion title puts you right up there and makes you popular among the masses. Save the congrats. But it also means - and take note folks, it could happen to you - that your rating goes down over 2 points overnight. So what rule did I break? I need to fix it. I have one burning mylot desire, and that's to never ever lose my 10 star.(I know that's shallow, but hey what else is there to aspire to here, after making freinds by the dozens I mean. lol) I am teetering on the edge of red and I'm seeing red, because I can't figure this out. I make money, friends, influence people, don't fight (well not anymore) with anyone, and behave myself as best I can, and yet on a day when my rating should have risen, it has gone down, down, down. *pouting big time here* My mylot goal in life is really very simple. Stay blue until everyone else is too! So start hitting the plus sign and help me fix this mylot tragedy. You have 24 hours. Are you up for the challenge?

That is weird. I didn't see anything you did wrong. I am on the red side of the same rating. At least I was...I haven't checked today. I know it is still red but I don't know if it is still 95. I just went from 94 to 95 in the past couple of weeks.

I plus all my my responses and comments. He will accept; I just have to remind him to put down the Xbox controller long enough to do so. He just got on Live so that is his "new" obsession!

Yep, you're at 95 and so am I, so my blue is definitely in jeopardy and I can't figure out why. I've plussed you of course (now return the favor! lol) as I do with everyone unless they use really abusive language. I make a point of rating everyone before I respond to them. It's only fair. I've also requested your hubby as a friend. I hope he accepts.

I always hit the plus sign on all of my friends' responses and discussions. Even people I don't know, if their reply is clear enough for me to understand, I will give them a plus rating. I like to use that feature as a bookmark of sorts, when reading through discussions. I won't go out of my way to find your discussions right now to give you the plus rating (I have to do dishes and then dinner.. and of course, there's the old "If I do it for you, I'll have to do it for everyone" lecture lol). However, I will do as I always do, and give you the plus rating anytime I ready anything you write. I'm just super cool and nice that way.

Mylot won't tell you when you break a rule. they just do what ever they want to, and sometimes they are not fair, I have lost 2 cents, from yesterday, I work my but off here, and that is a low blow when Mylot lowers your star or takes points and money from you, I just keep on posting, and keep chatting with all my friends. sometimes I don't think they know what they are doing. We just half to go with the flo here. Happy Posting!

I noticed that I lost a point in my post count this morning. I can't figure that out. I don't know if I lost money though because I earned well over a dollar, so it's hard to tell. Happy posting to you too marcia.

At least you should be thankful, because my star has been like this since a couple of months ago and hasn't been moving no matter what I do. I used to have that blue one, but wasn't sure what caused it to turn red since I also know that I follow the guidelines and FAQ's here. But nevertheless, I am not worried of it because the things that matters to me most is the thought that I could share to everyone in the best way I could.. Just do your best in sharing what you could as well, never mind much about those stars..

Hi raijin. Nice to see you. I do agree with your philosophy. I'm just the curious type though and would love to understand how this system works.*sigh*

wow you did a good job here my friend. you have 381 post and you got the blue star and the number 10 inside. it meaning you have a high ratings in here. i have more than 1100 plus post but we have similar star and number. i am jealous on you my friend. atleast you make it. don't worry, you are not alone experience fluctuating ratings, i experience two times, last was yesterday. from blue star with 9 it was turn to red star with 9 number. i don't know also what i did wrong. maybe thhis is the result of the ratings that many of us should know. to help other ratings we must rate always every comments and discussions. thanks for the post.

Thanks july. I don't get it either. There is no reason for my rating to drop two points overnight when I am at my most active. It seems the harder you work, the less your rating. And yet some people sail through with a blue 10 star from the get go and never go down. But you are right - just keep hitting the plus on all discussions and responses you comment on and it should balance the scales a bit. I plus everyone before I do anything else. Always. It's only fair to do so. If I come across a response I'm not crazy about I still plus it. I only negatively rate someone if they are outright abusive and I try to stay away from those types. Thanks for the support, and I'll be plussing you all over the site! LOL

I will always rate a + to people who respond to my posts unless of course it really really isn't a positive comment. And if I find a good discussion it gets a + because it has impressed me. Today you are impressing me! LOL.

I really must laugh now Maddysmommy! I wasn't trying to get everyone to rate me + with such fervour! LOL Although it has helped considerably. I just want everyone to turn blue! LOL Ok, the plussing has helped for sure, and rest assured I am returning the favor! I'm up to 97/100 now so I'm well out of the danger zone. lol Thanks for being a good friend, and like you I always plus everyone and every discussion as well as responses whether I like them or not. It's only fair as not everyone is going to agree with me, but that doesn't make them negative people right? After all you can't please all the people all the time and vice versa. How boring that would be! LOL

Hello spark!:-) Have any of your discussions been deleted Or have you been into disagreement with someone lately? If so, that may explain the loss of rating numbers! Anyway, I find it strange that people would rate someone negative for disagreement unless there is some explicit name calling and abuse involved. And, I can't believe for a moment that you can be disrespectful. I have always found you very respectful and understanding of opposing opinions. I do rate everyone with a plus, whether the person is agreeing with me or not, and whether or not that someone is on my friend's list. If I don't want to rate positive, I don't rate at all, I don't go for negative rating. Unless someone is really on a mission to negate you, your star rating will be at least at 96 or, maybe, even at 97 by tomorrow! :-)

To make sure that you accept the friendship I did 148. your discussion on religion provided the best chance with over 95 inputs from you. And, I would guess that it might have been the reason too, in first place, even though you were respectful of others' views! I, personally, lost faith in star rating very early. I had a blue for some time and then a group found a target in me just because our opinions didn't go well with each other. It couldn't make me change though. I do hope you continue to have the cool blue!:-)

LOL Well I guess we'll see tomorrow if your hard work paid off and I'm still blue! I've been plussing you too, but now I'll work harder at it! LOL Merci beaucoup, mon ami! Tres bien.

Nope, haven't lost any discussions or been in any 'fights' in the last few days. Two days ago my rating went up a point and then that night down 2, so it doesn't make sense. I do try to be respectful and fair all the time. So there is no excuse. The thing that irritates me, is that it has to be someone who is rating without replying because none of my responses show anyone who have cause to rate me negatively. I just want everyone to play fair. And I hope you're right that tomorrow I'm up to at least 96 and get myself out of the danger zone. If I'm red tomorrow I just may have to cry! lol I hate red. It looks terrible on me! lol

I don't know sparks. If you said anything negative on here, I would not remember it 10 mins later even if i responded to it. Unless someone is extremely rude, I just don't hit that negative button. By that I mean over the top. WE all have our bad days or something strikes us and it is so easy to make a comment that we later regret. The person has to be more than just rude and over and over before I hit that button. Same with reporting. I pretty much stick to plus or nothing at all. I think some people get too happy with that button. I will help you but only if you post good posts. I will make extra sure that I hit that plus. I do tend to get lame with even hitting that at times. I'll pay attention to you and what you post. ok?

Thanks sparks. I always hit the plus when I respond to a discussion started even if I choose not to respond. It helps them and it helps me remember which discussions I have already responded to or at least read and chose not to. I always mark + on my own discussions to anyone who responds whether I agree or not. I just am lame when reading thru. don't worry...i got your back.

Thanks sid and I'll do the same for you. I just want to see some fairness here. I never hit the negative either. I always hit the + before I even respond, unless there is some terrible abuse going on and then I just report it.

Well yes you do have my back - did you feel me bump into you! LOL I always rate every response on a discussion even if it isn't mine. People take the time to respond, and some never get a reply, so the least I can do is rate them for their time and thoughts.

I've plussed you darling! Always will too. My own star goes from 94 down to 93, lingers for a long time, then goes back up to 94,and then, sure as shootin, goes back down to 93. Like now. But - if I had a 10, I wouldn't want it to change, not one bit. Is 95 the cut-off point for a 10? You mean all I need is one more lousy little point to get a blue star???? Geez, I want a blue star too. But I don't think it's ever going to happen, and I'll probably live. Being a 9 is ok, I think. At least I don't have to maintain perfection like some people we know. (giggle) But I promise, honey, I'll go about the Lot and plus you all over the place, but in a way so as not to alert the admin watchdogs. I'll be very surreptitious. Covert. Mata Hari on the sneak.

LOL Nova - thanks. Yes 95 is the cut off point between blue and red, but it seems mylot is now calculating in fractions, because some people are red with a 95 rating and some like me are 95 with a blue. Interesting huh? So it seems my lovely blue is in real jeopardy. *sigh* I just don't get how it could go down 2 points over night when I so damned popular! LOL And you know I always plus you! It's habit now! LOL

Hi lj. Yes I guess so. Like I told nova, they must be calculating now in fractions. So I'm hoping to get over the danger zone and be at least a 96 tomorrow! LOL We'll see. But at least I'll be in good company if I'm red!

sparkofinsanity I know the f eeling.I have tried my utmost to be respectful and tactful toall people in mydiscussions but someone with a negative trigger finger has yo yoed my rating from a blue star to a red star back to blue and back to red because I guess i do not smoke and I uphold abortion rights for women and for my opinion I get minused that is not fair and it is against the rules of MyLot. it states that you should not hit the negative keysimply because you do not agree with the other person.Yet that is what happened to me. Idid email MyLot about it and I am surprised butthey emailed me that they would look into it.I will keep on hittingthe positive key for you indeed for the next 24 hours at least one of us ought to getor keep the blue star.

Thanks Hatley. I'll do the same for you. It just makes me wonder how mylot determines these ratings anyway. I remember them saying in some pm response to me that they know when people are rating negatively without posting and can track who they are, so why don't they do it and put a stop to this nonsense. I just want to see everyone treated fairly and the trolls neutralized. How hard can it be?
