Since gasoline is at the peak price, people should now be encouraged to ride bicycles instead of automobiles . It is like China or Japan. They used to ride bicycles. Will you agree if this is going to be implemented in your country?

No it won't... For two reasons... 1) The high price of accommodation has pushed people in the outer suburbs... miles away from their workplace. It is common in Sydney for people to live 20 miles from their workplace. 2) People have become too fat in our affluent society to be able to ride a bicycle. Gasoline at peak price in America... Yeah sure mate! You should live in Australia or in France. Then you would know what peak price means. It is $1.50 a litre in Australia And about $3.00 a litre in France. And the French have still not gone back to their bicycle.

Gas is actually cheap in the States as opposed to many other countries. I pay $3,25 a gallon right now which is cheaper than the ones you mentioned. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Some people live too far from their jobs to ride a bike. but there is public transportation and my wife rides the bus to work each day. So she saves fuel by using public transport. I like driving myself. I do not work so I do not drive a lot. I pick my wife up from work at nights as the buses don't run when she gets off work. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I do not own a bicycle and it hurts me to ride my daughters. We do not travel to many places other than to the store or grocery store these days. My husband works close to home and I work online. We live out in the country and the nearest stores to shop at, is 15 miles away from me, one way. I would have to ride a bike 30 miles. There is no way to haul alot of things on a bike either. I think the people who live closer to things and could use a bike, should use them to save money and help the environment too though.

I live in the city, there are many people here who bike, when the season allows, and even a few die hards who do it even in the winter time. I ,myself have talked about starting to bike to work. I only live a little over a mile and it would save a bunch in gas if I did, plus help me get in better shape. Not sure if I will do it yet, but if gas keeps rising I may have to thru the summer at leaste.
