I can't stand the smell, it gets in your clothes it makes your house smell, I can stand that smell it stinks, and the people that smoke, you can smell it all in their skin. My girl-friend comes over, and so does her Boy-friend, I make them go out side to smoke because I don't allow no one to smoke in my house, When I go over to her house I do'nt say anything, I just move to another room, or go outside untill there done, that is second hand smoke, she comes over and tell me I don't want to come over your house, you can't smoke. Well I am sorry don't come, well I didn't tell her that, but she knows that she has to go outside. I quite smokig 30 yrs, ago, long time right? I am happy I did because cigerettes are very expensive now. Does it bother you for people to smoke in your house?

I smoke so yes I do allow it but if I go to someone else's house I will not smoke, I think that is just being consideration, now in minnesota a alot of places won't let you smoke in resturants and the such so it is not as much of a big thing anyway..As far as the second hand smoke I honestly have done alot of search on that and it is very overrated..I don't mind that people don't smoke but it is my right to smoke and until I can quit I will keep enjoying it. but I really do respect your decision

Good for you marcia! And congratulations for being able to quit smoking all those years ago! I don't allow people to smoke in my home. If they want to smoke, they are welcome to smoke outside in the yard so long as my kids or myself aren't within breathing distance. Non smokers shouldn't have to be forced to breath other peoples smoke like we had to years ago. And I'll be d@mned if I let my kids go through it like I did when I was a child.

I do not like the smell of smoke either. No smoking allowed at all in my apartment. Luckily, I don't have smokers as neighbors either. Besides, smoking is not healthy anyway, so why smoke? Anyone wants to smoke when visiting me, will have to go out of my apartment building and then step more than 20 feet away because of the new smoking laws in Hawaii! The time that they are visiting me should not be so bad that they HAVE to smoke in that time. They can wait until they are in their car or at their home.

They have ban smoking in all Public places I am so glad of that. My girl-friend came over one day, I let her slide and told her to go in the bathroom with the vent on, I won't do that again, I do not want my house smelling like smoke.

When we rented, we didn't really care because it wasn't "our" house, but when I bought my first house... That was different. It was brand new and since no on had lived in it before I told everyone they couldn't smoke in it. My family was ok with that - and I only have few friends that smoke so that was ok too. It was really horrible when I moved into that house from my mothers. She smoked and I never realized that all my clothes smelled like that!!!! I had to wash everything!! Even when I bought my car I have now, I don't let people smoke in it.

well I know how you feel. Its not nice waking up after a night out with your clothes smelling of smoke and coughing your lungs up. Its best for smokers to go outside to smoke, not just for others but themselves also.

Neither I am a smoker nor I allow any smoker to stand before me. I can not like ciger smell. Whenever I travelled in rial, bus or any kind of means if I find anybody to smoke in the public place I strongly protest. Even in my house if my relatives or friends comes to visit I personally request them with folded hand not to smoke. I also displayed a symbol of No Smoking in my house. I can not tolerate the smoker as I am having allergy . pkc3000

I don't allow smoking in my home or car. If someone said they didn't like coming to my house because they had to go outside, I would say it Loudly and Proudly- 'Then don't.' I am not going to tolerate such a disgusting habit, the smell, the mess, the health risks, because someone is annoyed at having to go outside. I would not feel bad about telling them, either. Good for you for quitting and not starting again. I quit 2 and a half years ago, and will never smoke again.

Well I do smoke but I would never smoke in someone elses house if they were a non-smoker. Actually I have a friend who doesnt smoke herself but always tells me she doesn't mind if I smoke in her house. I think she feels bad when I stand outside in her back garden when I smoke lol. I still don't smoke in her house though, I don't think it's fair to do so when someone doesn't smoke themselves.

it's almost 60% of the smoke inhaled by the non-smoker if you allow them to smoke inside your house. it is not advisable to smoke inside the house with many people don't smoke specially to the kids and to a pregnant mom. smoking is really dangerous to our health but because it pays huge amount of tax that is why government could stop making it.

I agree with you. I hate the smell of smoke, and the way it makes your hair and clothes smell. It also yellows your teeth over time. If you friend can't deal with going outside for a 5 minute ciggarette break, than she is just being stubborn. When people come over to my parent's house (I live with them for now), people have to go outside to smoke. No one in our house smokes, and we think it's nasty. When my boyfriend goes to the bar on Monday nights to play in his poker tournament, he usually comes home smelling like smoke, and it's horrible. As soon as he gets home, he washes his clothes and takes a shower. It makes me sick, the smell, and if people aren't polite enough to smoke outside, they aren't allowed to come to my house.

I don't like people smoking inside the house. The smell sticks everywhere -- curtains and the sofa. First of all, people should just stop inhaling those stuff, it'll kill them eventually and kill me faster than them. grr. Its already been proven, more and more non-smokers die of lung cancer than the average smoker.
