Did you donate this evening?

I've been sitting her watching American Idol Gives Back and I just wondered how many other people are motivated by these stories and end up donating when normally you might not. I have not donated yet this year, but I did last year. Are you planning on donating? No, you won't be struck down by lightning if you aren't going to.

I donated $50 last year but won't be able to this year. Too many commitments at the moment. I am enjoying listening to the music though :)

I fully understand! We donated last year as well, but this year things are tight and I have prom coming up on Saturday night for my daughter. I'm counting pennies just to get her hair done. I'll just donate later in the year so I can feel like I contributed. Thank you for your response!

It is tight for us too :) My sister in laws wedding is coming up in a few weeks and it's costing us a fortune to get there but looking forward to her wedding and seeing our inlaws again :)

I donate to almost any good cause. I donated last year and I donated again last night. Will donate next year if they do it again. The stories on the show do not influence my decision. I would like to see a break down of where all the money goes. I know they have to pay for the studio, the utilities, employees, etc. Just wondering how much of that $22+ million goes towards actually helping people.

I have the hardest time donating to certain organizations because of that very thing. I know that with the American Red Cross, a very small portion of what you donate actually gets used to help people. Their administrative fees, overhead and etc., eats a majority of the money donated. It's not an easy thing to find the details behind that either because the more accessible it is, the less people want to donate.

Not today im too broke. Id love to help if I could. I do other stuff for charities like collecting donation for the walk for autism aka stuff that doesnt require me to donate out of my wallet but give my time which i have.
