ive just seen monster on DVD and i must say that its a pretty great film, acting wise (charlize theron was very effective in her role as aileen wournous, not to mention the drastic appeareance change) and story-wise. other nice films that i can recall that are based on a true story that ive watched are catch me if you can starring leonardo dicaprio, breach starring ryan phillippe, 8 below starring paul walker, the pursuit of happyness starring will smith, and 300 starring gerard butler. i didnt finish watching american gangster (denzel washington)coz i got bored with it, while zodiac (robert downey jr, jake gylanhaal, etc) was pretty ok for me, i didnt really like the latter part of the film especially when it got too technical when jake gylenhaal's character was examining the evidence. anyway, how aboutyou, what are your fave films that are based on a true story?

I like the movie John Q. Denzel Washington acted as a father with a son having a heart problem...
I don't want to spoil the the story just in case you haven't watched it yet.
It's a good movie good for analogies in life :)

oh, i only watched the first 30 mins of that film coz my brother only rented it and i wasnt able to finish it coz i was feeling sleepy already and that was the deadline to return the DVD. too bad i'll probably just rent it again, the part that i watched the last was when anne heche was telling him that the surgery would cost lots of money and then he started asking for donations and his insurance. it wasnt based on a true story though, right? i didnt recall seeing it on the label..

The movie seems to be based from a true-to-life story. I recently found out that it is not. But still it is a really good movie so good to be true... :)

The Serpent and the Rainbow...I think I just commented on this one under your "Scariest Movies Ever" discussion. It is an amazing movie that completely freaked me out...especially because it was based on a true story.
Fried Green Tomatoes was apparently based on a true story. I liked it. It was a good story. And don't forget the classic Sound of Music.
Rudy was a good movie and great lesson about following your dreams.
Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil - Awesome flick!
I loved Finding Neverland, Apollo 13 and Seabiscuit. They were all based on true stories...
I am sure there are more...but I just can't think of any more at this time. :-)

The best movie based on a true story, that I have ever seen, is Titanic. I love that movie and can watch it several times and never be tired of watching it. It is a very good movie. If you have not seen it yet, you may want to rent it and watch it.
