I Have Gone From Using Lamps And Lights In The Livingroom And Kitchen To Using Candles, We Cook Out On The Grill A Lot More...Thank-Goodness Spring Is Here! I Have Lowered The Wattage On All Light Bulbs That We Do Use, We Use A Half A Grocery Cart Of Coupons And We Now Buy Things Only When We Really, Really Need Them. My Husband Travels 80 Miles Round Trip To Work And There's No More Cutting Costs On That But How Have You Cut Costs To Save?

I'd turned off the lights when not in use. Sometimes, i'd follow a family member and turned it off myself. More on vegetables [and fruits] in our meals. once or twice a month of meat. Walked when the destination is not that far. We use flourescent bulb. I wash my clothes, am not using the washing machine. :D No eating out instead I'd searched for the simplest cheapest and delicious recipes on web and cook 'em myself. No warm water in taking a bath, I always used cold one [brrrrr!!] but my family keeps on heating water for their bath. I don't buy much on cosmetics, instead i make my own homemade beauty stuffs. :D Packed lunch [and snacks] in the office. I don't go to gym, i use my jumping rope, twister, dumb bells, and hoolahoop. Hehe.. Am the one who's paying all the expenses at home, maybe that's the reason why am the only one who try to cut costs. My family's not cooperating. tsk tsk..

I have one tip of advice they may cost a bit more up front but they make a huge difference compact fluorescent lightbulbs we noticed on our very next months electric bill a huge difference like 30 % Like I said they do cost more up front and if they break do not touch with bare hands read up on them and study them we replaced every bulb in our house with them it was definatley worth the upfront cost because they do last along time to and that cuts the need to buy lightbulbs every month or so.

actually with the inflation going high, i think many people are thinking of cost cutting. even many have started so. In my home, mom is trying to do so. she watches less amount of Tv which can save electricity. we also buy what we need really.trying to switch off lights when not in use.

I hang all clothes to dry at this time to cut costs, as a dryer really increases the electric bill a lot. Turn off lights when they aren't going to be used and the television is off when there is nothing on. I use many coupons, but won't use a coupon if another brand would end up costing me less. This rarely happens, but I have used generic. I make a shopping list and list the coupon next to the product, so I know right away what is the best deal. I use coupons to buy clothes, as many times JCPenny will send me a coupon good on anything. I have no problem buying from the reduction rack, as many times there are nice items that the store only had a few left, so reduced the price. One way I help save on gas is by walking to the grocery store for food and other items that have coupons. Its one way of using just a few more coupons, as the store doubles one of a kind. I haven't paid for toothpaste or shampoo for the last 25 years. I donate some packages every year also.

When I need to save money I usually change my food lifestyle from being very luxurious and eating out all the time, to cooking at home and buying the best deals in supermarkets, I also try to avoid junk food since they're addictive and cost a lot of money. Also buying clothes, insead of buying all the bet brands to show off, you can buy something that looks nice and is relatively cheap. And I prefer not to take the bus when its only 15 20 minutes on foot

You can't cut on costs for his car, but you can make sure that he keeps up on his tire pressure, fluids and oil changes to ensure that he is getting the most out of his tanks of gas. We are doing about the same. The only thing we can really decrease on his food. Making out a menu helps out a lot.

My husband and I use only one car and we drive in to work together. We turn off lights when we're not in the room and put the thermostat 1 degree lower. When cooking, we cook for the whole week so we only have to heat up the food we want to eat. We also bring sandwiches for lunch. We've also installed a water-saving showerhead and collect rinse water to use in the garden. We haven't used our dishwasher in a year. It has now become a dish rack. These are little things which in the end help us save some precious dollars.
