Here is the thing i am 29 and obssesed with my weight i have gained 6 kilograms over the past few months and have tried a zillion diets but none of them worked for me! The thing is what i hate the most about those diets is that you are always forced to eat things you don't like! not the mention that they don't always work for you! Anyway one day i got this idea, CERELAC! yes i know it's babies food but i love it i always did so i thought why not eat cerelac just cerelac! first it's really light since it's made for babies and it has a lot of vitamins and iron so now i have been eating cerelac for the last 7 days nothing but cerelac and water! This is the first time i go on for a week without quiting my diet! and i lost weight! Im still planning to go on with my cerelac diet with one day break every 7 days. The question is, was it a bad idea? is it unhealthy to live on something like cerelac which is made of wheat and skimmed milk? what happens when you only eat wheat and skimmed milk?

youll wind up with vitamin deficiencies and probably extremely sick. babies are taken off of babyfood when theyre old enough to eat other food for a reason.. they NEED it for their health.. and so do you. youre playing a very dangerous game there in yer obsession to lose weight. and if you dont get smart about it, youll make a very thin looking corpse.

Maybe the reason is because humans need to change the food they eat no one can live on the same food type and maybe the dangers of living on such a food type would only occur in the long run and im not willing to do this forever! besides i used to have stomach aches all the time because of my colon problems and since i started this diet they stopped! not to mention that my skin had gotten smoother and my face doesn't look tired at all! have you heard of Detox? it's a kind of diet that's suposed to clean your body from all kinds of poisons and it's all about picking one healthy food like fruits for example and eat nothing else for a few days you basicly fast! and that is where i mostly got my idea from! only i'm not a big fan of fruits or vegies! some people Detox with only juices but that i can't do it's too hard for me! yet it is very healthy if done wisely like not for too long and very often. anyway maybe u r right but who knows none of us is a nutrition expert! but as far as i'm concerned i believe in fasting.

have you consulted your doctor about this diet, i know it has the stuff for babies and all but we are adults and in the long run you may lose weight to rapidly or something, you might want to check with your doctor to see what they say about this and if it is healthy doing it, hopefully it is and you can keep it up and lose the weight you want to

I don't see how it could be all that healthy adults need alot more vitamins and minerals than babies do. I'm sure there can't be everything that we need in it. If I were in your shoes I think I would eat it for 2 meals a day and have at least one normal meal that way your still getting protien and other things you need. I also think it would be a good idea to talk toyour doctor about it and find out how healthy it reall is for you. Good luck Hugz

Thank you goergineo, that's what i thought wheat can't be harmful and cerelac is made of wheat and milk and it is tastier than bread and easier to digest it does give a full stomach feeling and i enjoy it and never got bored from eating it, until now im doing great and loosing weight in a reasonable way not too slow and not too fast no feelings of dizziness and no stomach aches in fact i feel better than before i have started to drink juices as well the point is i don't want to go near anything solid, liquids diet has more benefits so instead of eating fruits i can drink them, also i don't want to go near anything that includes oil, oil is one of the worst things we usualy include in our diet especially people with stomach or colon problems not to mention the damages it causes to the skin and the black circles around the eyes. Anyway i will pay the doctor a visit soon and will update you with the news if this diet is really a good idea i will recommend it to all those who need new ideas to loose weight or those who just need to give their bodies a break after all we all need a break.

I would have to say I don't think it is healthy at all- however 7 days of it isn't going to kill you. Seriously...people fast for that amount of time (some much longer than that). Check out www.drfuhrman.com please. Did you know you can eat the green leafy vegetables you want and you won't gain weight? Fruits and veggies...beans...all good for you and you can eat lots of them without weight gain and SO much healthier. Check it out.

Thank you! will surely check it out:) yes i know veggies are good but i hate green foods and beans are good too but not for me doctor banned me from eating beans:( i love them though as for fruits im trying to get the habit of drinking at least a glass of juice everyday since i was never a person who drinks more that water! no coffee no juices no smoothers just water but im working on that now

hey.. :) i am also a big fan of eating cerelac because of its taste. And unfortunately i am also losing weight since i've started eating cerelac as my breakfast. But what i do is take cerelac in the breakfast, in the afternoon i go for one apple or orange or any other fruit, and at night i take chicken boiled or chicken soup with some healthy vegetables like carrots or cabbage. This diet is good for adults as well as this keeps me really fresh and healthy and my weight is also balanced now. I think you should try it as well! I hope this helps :) Thanks
