Are you a night owl or an early bird?I am an early bird and I wake up at 6 sharp every morning.I always accused my partner because he never get off bed till 8.When it's weekends he will stay in bed till noon if I didn't wake him up.I thought he was really a lazy bone and get angry about that sometimes. I just read a report which makes me realize that I should accuse him for staying in bed longer in the morning. It says there are reasons why some people are off bed at down while others prefer to burn the midnight oil. According to the research, that people's internal body clock are set by their genes and that can not be changed. If they are forced to work against their natural inner clock, they are probably not be able to do their best and can even lead to health problems for them. That's really something.Perhaps I should accept that these two fundamental different types of human exist rather accuse him a lazy bone. What about you?Do you stay up late at night or go to bed early

I am a night owl. If I didn't have to get up in the morning I would stay up late every night and sleep in late every morning. I sleep late on the weekends to make up sleep. I really do believe that that's how my internal clock is set.

I am a natural night owl. When I have time off I sleep in until 9 AM or later. I do my best work later in the day.

I feel that nighttime is the most suitable time for me to do reading and mylotting. For me, if to go to bed before eleven at night is considered as a waste of my precious time. I find nighttime is rather cool and tranquil. This always makes me feel comfy and energetic and always feel reluctant to go to bed. I have a nephew who always works in night shift. He is still optimistic and healthy though he has been working at night from 11pm to 7am. He sleeps in daytime for nearly twenty years. I think human could adapt himself properly and well to different environments.

I have always been a night owl! I worked later at night and slept later in the morning. There does seem to be a natural inner clock and when it is disturbed, watch out! Makes us grumpy if we are awakened before we are really awake!

I'm a night owl...but also an early bird. I'm the kind of person who thrives on about 6 hours sleep so I'm late to bed and usually up pretty early. Early mornings are nice to enjoy and relax because theres nothing that HAS to be done right away and you arent sitting regretting what you didnt get done. Late nights are awesome for alone time...No one else is awake in the house. The only thing is if you are in a house with a bunch of sleeping people you have to show consideration and try not to wake those that arent night owls..or even early birds.

I have to be up at about 7am each morning during the week in order to get to work, I do find it quite hard by the time it gets to Friday, because I don't go to bed early to compensate. Sometimes I am up until 12, 1am 2am etc. But come the weekend, I can sleep in until whatever time. I try to get up by 10am because otherwise it is a waste of a day, but my body does tell me that I need sleep. If I'm ill then my best sleeping is in the mornings. I can't go to bed early in order to rest, so my body clock is definitely a lay in bed one.

Yes hon, if you want to have a happy relationship you will let him live his life the way he wants and you live yours. He is a different type of person to you and that is okay. Concentrate on the important things in life not letting things like sleeping late. And yes the research is correct about the circadian rhythm or natural bod rhythm.

I used to be an early bird until I started working nights. I used to love to go to bed early and get up early. Now I am working in the evenings, all the way through the night to the next morning. I would have to say that I am a nightowl now even though my body says I need to be sleeping.

I'm an early bird! I love always to wake up at early as 6 am everyday, weekdays or weekend and finish every thing early too! No matter how I tried before to stay late in the bed even if I am awake already, I didn't like it! Good thing, My husband also is an early bird so, we just don't have any adjustment in this situation! No one will wait before taking the breakfast! hahahhahah

I sleep in occasionally but I feel better when I'm up early. So I must be an early bird. I was reading where it said teenagers should be allowed to stay up late and go to school later in the day - it would make them more productive in school, that at their stage in life this is the sleep cycle they are on. Maybe our body clock changes throughout our lives. Interesting.

Well, when I'm working, I'm forced to be up all night long. I would normally go to bed around 11pm, and wake up around 8 or 9am. I can't do that now. I guess I'm going to have some health problems due to my job than, great, that makes me feel all the more confident that I got myself into a good job, lol.

I am a night owl. I am sluggish in the morning, no matter how much sleep I get. I start feeling better around 10am. I sometimes feel tired again around 3 or 4 in the afternoon, but get very alert and ready to work on things after 8 in the evening. I drive my husband crazy, because I will want to start moving furniture around or working on something at 10pm, when he's ready for bed. I have to get up in the morning because I take my daughter to school at 7:30am. I tried getting up at 4:30am so I could get to the gym, but I couldn't even focus to drive and I seemed to do everything in slow motion. Instead, I am now going to the gym at around 9pm. I get home around 11:30, watch a little tv or use the computer, then go to bed at 12:30 or 1am. I don't always get enough sleep, and on the weekends I like to sleep in until about 10am. Although I feel for your partner, it is possible to curb your night-owl tendencies. Staying up until 2, 3 or 4 in the morning is just not realistic in today's society, unless you are working graveyard shift. Most of us must try to sleep at a relatively normal hour because we have work or school in the morning.

I am a night owl ... And I am lazy. But I'm not lazy because I am a night owl, I'd be lazy regardless of that. I've tried many times to stay on a routine of getting up in the morning but I find I get less and less sleep as my body tries to force me back to what it is used to as normal. I would rather be a day time person but that just hasn't been the case for me.

I like to stay up late after everyone has gone to bed. I like the time on my own, but recently I've been getting up earlier and going to bed earlier. I like to get up with plenty of time to spare before I go to work and after a long day, find that I go to bed sooner than I usually would.

I don't get up early unless I am forced. I stay up late and sleep late. Last "night" I didn't go to sleep until 4:30 am. I am most creative and energetic at night. I don't like to sleep the whole day away; but getting up around 11 or 11:30 am is perfect for me. It is not that I am lazy; I just work at different hours than other people do. I have tried and tried going to bed early I just can't do it.

I get up at 7am on weekdays, and the only reason that I get up then is because I have to, to take the kids to school! I automatically wake up about 8am, and I always go to bed around midnight. I just thought I was lazy as I have always been like this, I always wish that I could get up really early in a morning and feel really good, but it takes me such a long time to get going in a morning unless I wake up by myself. Now I know why!!

i am definitely an early bird. i am so much better in the morning, especially after a good night's sleep (that rarely happens these days though) and i usually hit the ground running. i do alot in the course of the day so by about 6 pm i am shot and cannot wait to go lay down and relax but i rarely get to do that as i have a 7 year old. i fall asleep very early most nights but find i will stay up later in the summer months when we do not have any cares about what time we have to be up in the morning.
