Strange as it may seem, the author of the article at the provided link maintains it is good for Islam when it is taunted, provoked, and made fun about.

Well, i think islam is currently in the spotlight is all it is....At some point or the other every religion has been. Take christianity for example...how many women were burned at the stake for allegedly being witches? And what about hinduism when it discriminated between people based on a caste system. Islam is the religion that's going wrong now....just like other religions have been wrong in the past and learnt from their mistakes....i do feel the author has a good point.... islam should be more open to criticism ...And it makes the rest of us critical about them as a whole because a few fanatics have done something to warrant such a world wide negative opinion on islam as a religion.

You are right! All the other major religions have had their 'turn in the spotlight' for outrageous conduct. In each case, they had to reform or they would have disappeared from the face of the earth. It is going to be the same with Islam, too. Either they learn to live with the infidels or their religion will die out as young people refuse to join. Any religion that does not adapt gets smaller each generation.

Every religion has to adapt to modern times. Jews use to practice stoning, but I cannot remember ever hearing someone getting stoned today(Well from a rock that is). Christians practiced burning at the stake and other torture methods to save the soul. Today the only method of saving the soul come from the pullpit. Christian, Jews, Buddist, and other religions have become the butt of alot of jokes, and Hollywood. I left out Islam because Islam is not a mature religion. Islam need to learn how to take jabs without burning someone flag, or threating to kill someone.

Your point about Islam not being a mature religion is well taken. I'd forgotten that Islam is also the youngest of the 3 major religions in the world. Thank you.

I think he makes a very good point.
Until Muslims get to the point where they learn tolerance for non-Muslims, then there will always be problems.
My main concern is the teachings that do not allow for tolerance of non-Islamic faith based on verses from the Quran/Koran... these would include Christians, Jews, and even atheists.... anyone who is not a Muslim.

It's an interesting idea to say the least. Possible that
many Muslims have been so indoctrinated by the
violence and hate of the religion that they've never questioned their values. Perhaps the heads up is helping them to step back and take a second look, giving them the power to choose how they will react instead of reacting in a preconditioned way.

Yes, this is another example of the power of the internet to help bring world peace. The 'net' is providing feedback to all kinds of people around the world, (including Muslims), to help them understand how the rest of the world see them and then change for the better.

This is so weird and no I am not about to taunt a muslim. as far as I am concerned I dislike the way they treat their women and as far as their beliefs I have to say I disagree with them all. but I respect their rights to believe as they see fit and demand that they accord me that same respect. You do not taunt an enrageed bull, and you do not taunt a muslim either. they do not show much respect for our country and I want nothing to do with them.

An intelligent rational response. Here's where I disagree.
If Muslims are merely ignored, they are going to take over western civilization. Have you read about the riots in France? How about the violence and rape in Scandinavia? In those areas of the world, Muslims were welcomed with open arms. Those countries have been repaid in the most unkind way.
No one can really afford to ignore Muslims. They must be stood up to. That's because their prophet has taught them to conquor the world and that infidels must either be converted, killed, or subjugated. Take your choice. Which do you prefer?
