Do you think you were spoilt as a child?

Do you think that this has helped or hindered you as an adult if you were spoilt as a child? I spoil my almost six month old son and often wonder if I am doing the wrong thing... Anyone got an opinion or some advice???

I was spoiled rotten. I was the kid that threw themselves on the floor and scream and kick. Anyone remember the spoiled kid from the Willy Wonka movie? That was me. I'm still apologizing to my mom.

LOL, my nephew is like that. We took him shopping the other day, hes 3, and he threw himself on the floor, holding his bottom, screaming at the top of his voice, don't mack me mummu, don't mack me, people must have thought my sister and i were kidnappers or child abusers or something...

Better discipline your child. Dont give everything that he wants because you will be at a loosing end at the end. Impose limitations.

I was spoiled rotten as a child. It wound up making me love the finer things in life but not realizing that you are supposed to earn what you have. My husband made me stop asking my family for money when we moved in together and now I am glad I did. We are buying a home, own 3 vehicles, and everything in the house we got through saving and a lot of hard work. I would encourage you to love him and support him in everything that he tries throughout life but as he gets older remember that he won't have everything handed to him on a silver platter. Right now he's still young enough for you to be able to spoil him a little but start thinking about the future in the decisions that you make :) And don't worry it will all work out in the end.

Thanks very much for your response and for the advice. I've already started a trust account for him, the kid is richer than we are lol, but I dont want to give it to him til he turns 21. I was 18 when I got mine and I blew it very quickly, I want him to know how hard it is to come by money...

My fiancee was the youngest and I think he must have been a little spoilt too cause he tends to sulk if he doesnt get his own way. I was the deprived middle child, lol, so I am used to having to fight for what I want...
