Do you diet? Or do you just have a healthy lifestyle? Either way what is your favourite diet? Low Carb? Special K? Low Fat? Atkins?

I am on a healthy eating diet and its working well!!! It must be I put some trousers on this morning and they are too loose!! I also have low carbs as that is what I put weight on with the most eating carbs. I have to be careful due to my kidney problems but healthy eating with good exercise will do wonders

I put on most my weight in carbs too, which is why I have a bit of a belly. But carbs are just so nice and I find it difficult to cook a meal without them ... bread, rice, pasta, potato etc.

you can replace the bread and rice and pasta for the brown wholemeal varieties these are still much better and cut down the portions rather than cut them out. x

High protein diet is good because you use up the proteins for the muscles.

Yeah, my boyfriend is on one of them, not as though it is much of a dietary change for him since he constantly ate high protein foods to begin with lol. I love chicken other than that I am not a huge lover of any other protein foods, unfortunately I go for carbs oops.

Hi there Elixiress! Yes, I'm on a diet right now and I'm on a low carb-diet. I used to do no-rice low-carb diet which was very effective after I gave birth but now I am having a hard time staying away from rice. Once I'm okay with my low-carb diet, I will gradually take away rice from my meals. How about you?

I am assuming that you eat a lot of rice then, I love rice, but I have more bread in my diet, so if I was to do a low carb diet, the first thing I would cut out is the bread. I am currently trying the Special K diet, I don't know how much weight I have lost because I am not checking until the end of the two weeks, but I am not snacking anymore and I feel full from less food, which was my main problem. So hopefully once I stop the diet, I will still be eating less quantities of food, because before I used to have huge portions and feel the need to snack constantly and the only thing stopping me was will power.

i dont diet, i just dont over eat and dont eat too much fat. my wife is on the after 6 diet. i think it works for her. if she gets hungry in the middle of the night then she drinks low fat milk and bites some crakers. she walks every morning as her exercise. thats what she do

she stops eating after six. so before six in the evening she will eat her dinner. that would be rice and something that goes with rice. we are rice people. diets are not easy so you have to work hard to get what you want. she eats everything she likes to eat but up to 6pm only.

I tried that, but it was really hard since I don't get that hungry before 6 and then get really hungry at 6.

Does that mean she only eats after 6 or doesn't eat anything after 6. I get the most hungry at night, so it would be difficult to not eat after 6.

I don't believe in dieting anymore. Because when you reach your goal...you tend to get easy and go back. Yo-yo dieting is not very good for our health. I'd rather have a healthy lifestyle, eat healthy and enjoy life.

I tend not to yo yo much, once my weight is down it tends to stay there, this is the first time that I have gained weight that was not proportional to my height, so I am trying to diet to get it down and then maintain it.

i dont specifically believe in diets, i mainly eat healthy & keep fit with a daily exercise regimes, there is no easy way to lose weight or keep fit, its hard work, but diets are fads, you may lose a lot of weight when you first start a diet, but as soon as you stop the diet, the weight will just come back

If you don't believe in diets then you don't believe in diets, since diets are just what you eat. It can be broken down into a healthy diet, unhealthy diet, restricted diet etc. But I agree that fad diets aren't for live long weight lose, however if you bought a dress for a wedding etc and you find that you have gained weight and the dress no long fits, would you go on a fad diet or spend more money on a new dress. I had this problem with prom and since I had go the dress resized to fit me, I could not return it, so unless I want to waste over a 100 pound then I fad diet was the only option.

As I am not overweight so I'm not on diet at present, but I always take great care of my daily diet. I am having my own way of healthy lifestyle so as to keep my body always fit. You know sometimes we couldn't refrain from taking those favorite food of high calorie like chocolate, ice cream, cheese cake and so on. So if I have taken any I would do extra exercise to consume away the excessive energy. Most of the time, I tend to take low fat food like vegetable, fish and food with less sugar and fat.

I really want to start exercising soon. I need to go to a gym to do it otherwise I get distracted, so I will probably end up waiting until I have another job, so that I can fund going.

I have not tried the Special K diet, but it would be the most affordable one. The Atkins diet focuses on lots of meats and I don't like to kill animals to eat, so that would not be my favorite. I like to do the all veggies/fruit salad diet. I lost a ton of weight on that two years ago when I last tried it. No carbs, though. Except for the ones derived from veggies. It works in an amazing way. But, it is not for everyone.

I didn't actually loose much on it, if I remember correctly I lost 1 pound, but the heavier you are the more you will loose as with all diets.

I don't "diet" as such, but try to eat healthy balanced meals, although I do have a sweet tooth and snack a lot, probably because I've been really inactive lately and my metabolism is low. Anyway, I love to cook, so I just make myself fresh meals with lots of vegetables and appropriate meats throughout the week. I probably go for low-carb, I've cut down on breads, rice and pastas that used to make up most of my food intake.. =D

So far out of all the diets I have ever tried the low carbohydrate diets work the best as far as weight loss. Unfortunately it is hard to do it very long, without feeling, really really deprived. But they do work.

I dont diet by especially going out of the way. I ahve a healthy weight and it is because of controlled portions. I had purchased a plate which has sections for different food varieties and it helps me control weight

That sounds really useful. My main problem is portion size. I eat quickly, so I can eat a lot before realising that I am full and when I get full I get completely bloated for this reason.
