Do you still have it? if not anymore...what's the reason? I will start the sharing, it was my gold bracelet, I acquired it after 3 years in my job and unfortunately, I don't have it right now since when we need to fix my parent's house, I tried to help them and I don't have any cash so I just sold it!

i was in college then when i save all my training salary to buy myself a tv and cd set, that was 9yrs ago. i dont have it right now coz i am no longer living with my mom, m y mom still have my cd player but my tv, i gave it to my sis-in-law's mom. she dont have a good tv so when my sis-in-law returned it (after they stole it - said stole coz i did not allow them to have it) i just told her to give it to her mom as my present coz my mom already have a good one so no need for her to have another one. after that, i no longer buy anything for my self., mostly i give it to mom or to my younger sister. i am not into material thing but my husband do love to buy me stuff and that is ok with me too. thanks for reading my story :) takecare!

Thanks also for sharing jairgirl! When I was single, I was just buying things every now and then and when I'm bored of it, give it to my sis or cousins and that's one thing that I will never do now! hahahaha...I value every cents now, very hard to earn this time.....

you're very much welcome! i am like you too but in a different manner, whatever i earned back then is given to my mom and to help support my sister's education. i dont saved for myself and just keep whatever is needed for me to survive the whole month. i dont regret it though and i am still doing the same thing till now though it is limited coz i dont work anymore and just a simple housewife now. btw, it is true that any cents matter now coz it is important. takecare!

The most expensive thing I have bought for myself is a stereo. My uncle brought me my 1st stereo. When it finally quit I bought myself another. As for jewlery, my hubby bought me my anniversary band recently. I don't usually by anything like that for myself.

Mine was a gorgeous pair of knee high black leather boots, and I had always wanted a pair for as long as I could remember and I finally treated myself to a pair last year. They were dear, but as long as I look after them they will last me a long while.

When it comes to buying things for myself I am pretty cheap. The most expensive thing I can think of that I bought myself as a treat probably my treadmill, I paid about $300 for it. But I saved for a few months for it before I bought it.

The most expensive gift for myself is a new automatic scooter.. It is quite hard in my place to find a public transportation so people go by motorbike, bicycle or scooter. I already have one as my b'day gift from my parents long time ago, but when my sister went to college, she wil need a scooter too to go to her campus as it is quite far from our house so I gave her my old scooter and bought a new one for myself.. It took me 10 months to finish the payment but when it finished I am so glad.. It cost me about IDR 10 million (about $ 1100) Pheww... That is the most expensive things I bought ever..

Yeah I don't really mind having too much expensive things. And thanks I try not to be too stingy and always think about other people. As long as I have my important necessities then I'm good.

My first computer which I bought years ago. I bought it because I was doing my thesis that time. It was second hand but the brand new was more expensive so I opted for that one. It's still there in my house in the province and accumulating dust. I got a new computer unit that my hubby bought me couple of years back but I left it there too.

The most expensive material gift I bought for myself was a Nokia NGage-QD, which I bought in 2004 for about 13,000 Philippine Pesos. Unfortunately, I didn't scout good before I bought the cell phone, for just a month after it gave up on me. The cell phone can be reformatted (by a profession for a hefty price), but just about after a month, it will fail again. I gave it up after the fourth reformatting, but I still have the phone - for sentimental reasons. Although I felt bad that I didn't fully get my money's worth, I feel it's still worth keeping.

I think the most expensive material gift for myself is yet to come. I love to give myself a lap top or some very hightech mobile phone, or a music stereo to use when I wanted to sing. Well so far, I bought myself a degree ring maybe more than 5 years ago, its quite expensive and I am very proud to have it. Though its still with me and I still own it but its left somewhere else.

Am not a lavish nor a big spender, I only buy what I can and what I need. The last time I bought something big for me was just about last year, I also added some of my savings from what I earned here on mylot. I bought an acoustic guitar, an amplifier for my electric guitar and a pair of clothings. I could also consider one time I bought myself a pair of basketball shoes too, it almost costs what I have spent buying my guitar and the amp.

15 Apr 08
wow! I can tell that is something also that will last forever, your shoes! anyhow, when we buy expensive stuff, we can also assure that it will really last! but, I believe since we are working hard, we also need to treat ourselves once in a while!

The most expensive material thing I bought for myself with my own money was definitely my laptop. I named her Columbia, and I am on her right now, so obviously I still have her! =) It's been really nice being able to get some work done wherever I happen to be, so it was a purchase well worth it for me. I don't splurge easily. In fact, I usually hoard my money. However, if I feel like it is something that would really be useful in my life then I'll make an exception. I can probably count those occasions on one hand, however, and this was one of them.

I think, the most expensive gift I have given myself was my laptop. It was years ago when I bought it from my earnings and saving. It was really expensive. That was why I really took care of it. Anyway, I gave it to my father now and he's the one taking care of it.

I would say its my digicam. I used to buy more expensive stuff before but since I became a mother, i feel guilty to buy these stuff now. It's really true that motherhood could change our priorities in life. When I go to the mall and find myself looking at beautiful dresses or other girl stuff, upon looking at the price tag my mind will go crazy, converting the price to the number of cans of milk formula I will be able to buy for my baby for just a single girlie stuff. :)

i agree with that, that's how my mom also to us!and all my friends too! that is also practicality, since in that stage, its better to prioritize their needs rather than our wants I believe!
