it depends on who you are and what your needs are, I will guarantee you that any laptop user who doesn't also have a desktop, even an older cheaper desktop will undoubtedly find themselves in computing hell the day their fragile laptop quits working and they can't access their data...

I do have HP pavilion Notebook with dual core processor... I do prefer laptop over desktop just because of its easy mobility. Unlike desktop, we can use it anywhere even on travel. Even I can use internet connection easily compared to that of desktops. even though laptops are a bit expensive, the amount of ease is great in using laptops over desktops. Hence i do prefer laptop over desktop

I would choose according to how my needs are.. The following are some of the advantages and disadvantages of both. Choose the 1 which has more number of advantages.. Owning a Desktop Advantages: -- Cheaper to buy than laptops and notebooks -- Easier and cheaper to upgrade -- More ergonomic (has a better keyboard, mouse, and screen) -- Harder to steal -- About 20%-30% faster than an equivalent laptop -- Good for gaming and other intensive computer tasks Disadvantages: -- Not mobile -- Takes up space Owning a Laptop--Advantages -- Mobile, goes anywhere -- Takes up very little space -- Canuse in classroom Disadvanages -- More expensive -- Slower than a desktop -- Difficult to upgrade or repair -- You have to lug it around all day -- Much easier to drop/break -- Easily stolen SO try using the one with more advantages that you feel
