Surprises Mylot Discussions

I am always surprised when I post a great discussion and it gets only a couple of posts. Do you have a discussion that you really wanted help, but you received very little help? Mine is New Ideas Porch Railing and there are 1,635 members in gardening. I should have posted it under Mylot.com based on the topic below. I wrote a topic Being A Writer and received 9 responses and felt it was not a good question. I know your not going to be considered a writer, if you only write on Mylot. People spend many years writing at many different places and I don't do a lot of writing based on how often I make payout. Many people on this board have posted making a $1.00 and more a day and this has never happened to me. If you have a topic that you really need help, then post it below and I will try to help. Thank you for reading this post that is longer than some of the posts I have read today.

I believe I saw your post but wasn't able to comment on it. Or it might have been a different discussion that I am thinkning about. Either way, I know how you feel when you post a really good discussion in hopes to get a lot of advice and then get only a few people who respond. In the past I have had this happen many times. I wish I could add a discussion that I really need help on, but at the moment I don't have any. All I have is a discussion that I started just to have a little fun and it hasn't had a hugh success in responses. But it's okay it was only for fun!

Sometimes, you think it is good but the others not. You know what I mean. And sometimes "not good" but you never know it might be pretty good for someone else. That's why it is very hard to predict. I post as I please and I reply as I please. Some of my topic has no replies at all and I think it is very good post for everyone, but it is OK because that someone miss one more good one and not me... hehehe. Happy posting.

Actually. I do completely agree; however, thought somebody from my friend list would reply to the gardening questions. One of them is which gardening tool do you use the most? The other has to do with a porch railing and that I'll be the first to admit was a hard question. Thank you for posting and reminding me that we all have some great discussions with no replies. Have a good day.

I do understand what you say hon, I remember the post on the railing, I didn't answer it because I am not a gardener and I didn't know what to say. I am not sure if I answered the other one, but I have 3 days of my lot discussions I haven't gone through yet. I am one of those people that make a dollar and usually close to two dollars a day, and there are some topics that I can 100 posts for and others that I have to go and ask a friend to say something, anything just as long as they post to I can close the discussion.

Thanks and I will see what kind of help I can give this evening. I do have some posts with lots of responses just not in plants. I'm going to think of some other topics and post some questions before Monday.

Yes it has happened to me many times. I post something very interesting and get no comments and i post something stupid , i keep getting comments. Actually , i posted a discussion yesterday regarding alertpay hoping to get some responses but i got none. So here's my question : I got my paymeny from incomebux finally. But the problem is they have credited one dollar to my alertpay account instead of my paypal account. Now alertpay doesn't support india. So i dont know how to get my one dollar. I need some serious help on this one since i dont want to lose my hard earned one dollar. Hope i get some help here. Thanx for starting this thread. ~pinks~

I don't know anything about Alertpay, as haven't signed up for it. Several sites only pay in Alertpay now. I'm not a member of incomebux, so went over to the site to read the terms of service. They state people are paid in paypal, so my suggest contact them. It doesn't make any sense to me, but I'm certain after hearing this information I will never join the site.

I see some great posts with few responses and I also get some. I think, some people just don't have so much to say about discussions that are not linked to their own experience. I, myself, have little to say if I have not experienced the same thing. I must be able to relate to a discussion to be able to participate in it. Here's some of my recent discussions that have receive little responses. http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1454106.aspx http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1471542.aspx http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1479279.aspx Thanks in advance for your promised help. I'm already claiming it.

I have now answered all three questions. The second was a huge challenge, as I live in a year round warm climate. I'm sorry my answer is weak, but that is all I need to do now.

Thank you so very much. I've seen your responses and have also commented back on them. You don't have to be sorry as long you put something in there. It is very well appreciated.

Polls are not allowed on Mylot according to the guidelines on the bottom of the board. I'll see if I can answer one of your discussions later today. Thanks for the reply.

Thank you for coming to post, as I thought my friends were ignoring me. I know hard to believe that I was really feeling discouraged about posting gardening topics. Have a great week and I will see how I can help you sometime today.

i think you have done a very generous gesture now. i am never able to get many responses for mine also. i think there are so many members and discussions are also so more. if the discussion is not that much catchy it does not so many responses.

Well, I do not really have any topic to post here in your discussion that I need help with. But your topic is very interesting that I can't help but respond. I do agree with you. There are times when you post a certain discussion under an interest with thousands or even tens of thousands of members but you end up getting few (or even NONE) responses to that discussion. I don't know. Maybe the other myLotians are not just interested in the topic at hand or they simply do not have anything to share. But that is really odd considering that they have those topics in their list of interests. My boyfriend has the same concern. He often tells me how disappointed he is that he gets very few responses to some of his discussions and gets more disappointed if he sees a not-so-interesting or a very basic topic with many responses. But I guess that's just how it is nowadays. Some people just look for questions that they could respond to with just a word or two just to increase their number of posts. Good luck my friend!

You are doing a good favor for all of us here. I do have lots of posts that had very few responses and though I feel a little bit frustrated about it, I know that I cannot really do much about it. I am sure that many members here would be very happy to know that someone like you would go out of your way to help. Good luck to you!

Thanks for reminding me about Wall-E, which is a movie I'll be watching. I'm looking forward to discussing the movie after seeing it. The trailer looked great.

Sometimes people miss the good discussions and other discussions in general. With hundreds of discussions being started, commented on and rated, only a select number get the right amount of attention. Others get lost in the commenting process (I have 2 discussions that are simple but informative and have zero responses). Other times there are discussions that only get a few posts due to length, subject or attention span of users(some openly admitted these). For a couple of samples here are my discussions http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1360349.aspx http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1360501.aspx

I looked at both topics and was impressed by both discussions. I always avoid religion; however, the other topic is one I would have posted, if you didn't already have a response that is how I feel on the subject. I try to avoid repeating another members great reply. I will go out and try finding a discussion that you have posted with zero replies. I really like to resolve 100% of discussions and realize other people like to resolve them also.
