Has anyone heard the rumor that deer meat is supposed to be healthy for you? I wouldn't eat something just because people say it is supposed to be healthy and for me deer meat is traumatizing. I have only ever eaten deer meat once and it was the other day at my boyfriend's mom's house. I didn't know that she had put deer meat into her meatloaf until after i ate it or else i wouldn't have eaten it. The trauma of deer meat started with me at a very young age and a popular children's movie called Bambi lol! when i was like 5 (i think) I asked my grandpa what was for dinner he smiled and looked down at the floor in the barn where he had apperantly laid his morning kill. he had painted spots on the deer and told me that we were having Bambi for supper. I didn't eat that night lol and I never touched deer meat until the other day But i have heard that it is very healthy for you has anyone else heard this?

All animals are beautiful and/or cute, yet I eat several of them--some more often than others. Tonight, I'm eating a steer--who might have even once been one of those little calves I come across in my travels nursing their mommies. A few days ago, I had some beans and ham--the latter which might have even come from a pig I once came across on a backroad, talked baby talk to, and took his picture. Occasionally, I'll eat lamb--those precious, little critters who just melt my heart when they come up to the fence making that adorable "Baaaaaaa..." sound. Those cute, little nursing calves I mentioned a few paragraphs up also taste nice as veal cutlets. Motherly hens, noble roosters, and cute, little chicks of a recent past can all convert themselves into tasty meat for me. The same goes for a variety of other critters and fish. However, when it comes to deer...somehow, it would almost be like eating a cat, dog, or horse for me. I've eaten deer before when I was about four or five years old, and a friend of Uncle Don gave him some. But I only found a small part of it to even taste good to me, and it didn't have anything to do with seeing it as a piece of Bambi. This was before I even saw the movie.

I have heard it is good for you also!! I think it is because it is very natural. If I had someone that would go out and shoot me a deer... I would most certainly eat it!

i am not scared of deer but never tried eat the meat of a deer. i don't eat exotic foods. in our country we considered deer as an exotic food. all exotic foods are good for the health base on research and i agree that but if somebody ask me to eat exotic foods, never i will not.
