I recently read a discussion about the creepy King in the Burger King commercials and some other commercials came up. What do you think about today's commercials? Are they getting to "adult" for kids? Do you believe there is a hidden or subliminal message behind it? I'm interested in hearing your opinions.

I guess it depends on the commercial. There are some that are funny, some that are annoying, some that are creepy, some that are a bit on the "adult" side, etc. I think it's that way now, and it was probably that way twenty years ago too (even if I might have been a bit too young to notice the "adult" ones twenty years ago). My mother also thinks the Burger King guy is creepy. :P I don't mind him. There are some commercials that I actually find offensive though, such as the Geico caveman commercials (reminds me way too much of racism) and the Axe body spray commercials (sexism), but I tend to get offended easily. :P

That is true that most kids tend to not notice the "adult commercials, but sometimes they may try to copy some of the material they see. I never thought about the Geico commercials like that. I guess everyone has the own idea of offensive.

I believe that they are to "adult" for children. Some of them are just plain scarey. :)

Yeah, while watching a kid network like cartoon network, I'm surprised at the commercials the show, even certain previews for movies get too scary for kids. My friends little cousin came running and crying one time because a movie preview scared him so much and he was 4.
