What Am I Cooking Tonight?

Okay so my mom loves to shop at Sams Club a bulk buying shop. She bought a big thing of beef stew type meat and gave me most of it. I love beef stew but am looking for some new stuff to do with it as I have a few meals worth. So what do you do with your beef cuts?

Okay, different, how about orange beef. Flour, season and gently pan fry the meat. For an orange sauce, 1 tablespoon cooking oil 1/2 cup teriyaki sauce 1/4 cup soy sauce 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 tablespoon flour juice of 1 orange zest of half an orange 1/4 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup granulated sugar Saute garlic in oil, add flour, whisk and add soy and teriyaki sauce. Add orange juice, orange zest, and sugars. Bring to a boil, it will thicken. Cook over low heat to consistency you want. Serve over rice. This is very similar to the crispy orange beef they serve at some carry outs. Easy to make - my favorite kind of recipe. Other ideas - goulash (the kind with macaroni use stew meet instead of hamburger, vegetable beef soup)

Seeing this discussion plus one another friend started about vegetables makes me think you two could get together. I used to brown stew meat, pour in a can of diced tomatoes, thick cut some zucchini and onions, add a clove or two of garlic and simmer until the meat was tender. Actually, I would add the zucchini when the meat was nearly done. It was good over rice.

How about cooking it up and mixing it with brown gravy and fix rice or noodles also. I love beef like that with either rice or noodles. Delicious.
