What do you think about the Pope's visit to the US?

I think it is nice of him to do this. I heard that he promised a blind ten year old boy that he would pray for him. When I watched it on teleevision, he seemed very nice and approachable. What do you think?

No offense, but I don't trust pope and anybody else who is too involved with Church. I know, I know don't judge the tree by one bad apple. Yes, there are other good apples. But those good apples are hard to find. Too many scandals relating to kids molestation cases about leaders in churches etc. it is scary. As for the comment, I believe the pope will pray for the boy and is sincere about it since it is on TV. A pope needs to be approachable after all he represents many groups.

I watched it on Fox when the pope came and the President, his wife, and daughter were there to meet him. I am not Roman Catholic, but I do hope my daughter=in-law who is, was watching it as well. He seems rather fit for a man of his age. He does appear a nice man. I guess that is why he was elected pope because of his approachability and how he relates to others. I am really not interested in who he prayed for. I am sure he prayed for many people and I do not base my opinion on him whether who he prayed for had a disability. I know he is a decent and moral man and that is what I am more interested in, and decent and more people are kind and help others.

I do think that he seems to be very approachable and nice. However, I don't think that we hear as much about him as Pope John Paul and I feel that he was a very respected man throughout the world. I am not sure that Pope Benedict seems to have the same respect yet. Maybe it will come in time and after we see more of him.
