my ferret got out of the house yesterday, and i looked everywhere for him when i reliezed he was gone, but no luck for me, i looked this morning, and periodically called out his name out the door today, I cried last night, and man was felling bad, i love my ferret. Well once when i was hollering FATSO out the door, someone asks if we were looking for a pet, then asked what kind of pet, they had my ferret over in there garage last night and put it in there house, they were going to knock on doors later today, but when she heard me well you know what happened. So I AM SO HAPPY. this is the second time he got out and i found him, lucky. Have you ever lost a pet and found it agian?

That is lucky for you. My ferett was trying hard to get out last night mabey he heard yours crying lol. We let him play in our pool for awhile (no water of course). He likes it cause the liner is out so he has a small big for him area of grass to run in. Mine has gotten lose but all i have to do is ring my doorbell or get his aqueek toy and he will come running.

mine will come running at a plastic bag, or if i call his name, but he takes his sweet time getting to me, i dont know if he would do it though while doing something else, this time he was in someone elses house so he couldnt hear me. i think i would perfer him to be in someones house that will try to get it back than outside where something will eat it.

i was just getting really really attached to my ferrets when he ran away yesterday. really just learning some of there quirks, and hes getting more and more trustworthy, i think the people that use to have them didnt really pay much attention to them, and had them in the cage all the time. i usually let mine out our little backyard (i live in a fourplex and my backyard is real small) i cover all the holes and sit out there with them while the run around the little square, playing, digging, trying to get out LOL, im wondering what im going to do to let them out when we get our own place. I was thinking about making a small cage with chickenwire, and outline it with bricks so that they cant dig there way out.

We had a cat that got out and he was so friendly that we suspect that someone took him in - the former roomie and I drove around in the middle of the night calling his name. He had been gone 2 days, the next morning he came running home, that's why we suspect someone had him in their house. I helped find a dog back to her home years ago. We found her just before Xmas. We looked for signs and finally we decided to put up a sign of our own. The former roomie wanted to put all this info on the sign, I said, just draw a fakie looking dog head and say "We found your yellow dog" and include our phone number. Next day we got the call. The people had been out of town and a neighbor was supposed to be feeding the dog. Dog and owners were happily reunited.

Thats so awsome, the woman that found my ferret seem so relieved and happy that we were reunited, i was so scared i would never see him agian. Most of the time when a ferret gets out like that you wont find them again. now i dont want to let him back outside in his play area b/c im scared he would get back out, but i watch him when that happens, i dont even know when he got out yesterday, it was just one minute he was there the next he was gone, I'm suspecting when my sister in law came in yesterday morning to drop off her kids. So i got to watch in the mornings more carefully while people are comeing in and out of the house.

When I was younger, I was always going to have a ferret when I grew older, they are fantastic little things. Of course I never did get around to having one. Is that what you called him Fatso? I cannot imagine calling that out around here, I would end up missing a tooth!!! I am glad you found him though, love happy endings me!!!

i didnt think of that, i hope no one thought i was holloring fatso at them LOL. Im so happy that i found him, i was dreading telling my step kid that we lost one of the ferrets but i odnt have to b/c we found him. the other ferret i call slinky, because one is fat and the other is real skinny and squirmy, which reminds me of a slinky

Wow, you are very, very lucky to have found your ferret! Ferrets aren't like cats and can't usually find their way home. They have also been domesticated for thousands of years, so they do not fare well in the wild. I'm glad you found him. I would be so sad if my baby ran away. It's great that your neighbors actually brought it into their house. Some people who aren't familiar with ferrets tend to think that they are wild animals like rats or minks or something and might try to hurt them. I hope you keep an eye on him in the future. You might not be so lucky next time.
