I have seen the film, "The Golden Compass" I liked it a lot, but I thought that it was a little too compacted. They seemed to cut out a lot of the stuff about the Magesterium from the books. I thought that Lyra was the best character. They chose a good young actress Dakota Blue Richards to play her and I think she did a very good job of playing the main character. I think that Daniel Craig is rather yummy. :) So I did enjoy him playing the character of Lord Azriel too. Overall it was a good film I would give it 7/10. Not as good as the books but worth seeing.

Yes, I did and the effects were amazing...I really liked the golden compass (the alithiometer) because its really a handy device. Although I agree that it was very tight, they could have slipped in more scenes and did the sequences like the book did. I was expecting some great scenes but they did not come up in the movie, especially the last part where Lord Asriel killed Rogers and Lyra followed him to the other world... Lord Asriel looks great, although in this movie he was a protagonist, as opposed to the book, where Lyra hated him because he killed her bestfriend. Mrs. Coulter was ok too, I liked Nicole Kidman for the part, I think she's perfect for that part... And Serafina Pekkala, they were riding pine cloud branches, aren't they? But they were depicted flying in the movie. But most of all I adored Ioric Bernessen (forgive me for the spelling). Not the typical cuddly bear but someone you'll love to be with... Overall, I liked it, but they could have sticked to the story...
