Hi all my friends and members of mylot,
Okay, I'm quite spooked right now. For all friends that do know that I work 24 hour shift, there's this particular toilet at my workplace that is certainly "haunted". A lot of my colleagues claimed to have seen or smelled something scary and bad. Just last night, around 2 AM, on my night shift, I was the "unlucky" one. To tell you honestly, I'm still spooked right now, but here I am just typing away. My shift ends later at 9 AM and I'm trying to "focus". When I do get home, what I'm going to do is get some sleep and not think about it so much because as of now, I think I might get a fever already.
I went to the toilet around 1:58 AM, and the 3rd cubicle from the left was the one that I used. While I was doing "my time", I heard some humming tunes. At first, it was very light and distant but after a few minutes, the sound came as though it was just "BESIDE ME!!" I knew it was not a human humming sounds because it is a LADY'S VOICE! And I'm in the man's toilet. Only God knows how "spooked" and "very panicked" I was at that time. I quickly rushed through, and when I went out to wash my hands, I didn't hear the humming sound anymore, nor seen anything at all. (Thank God).
Though I never really "see" that thing, but the sound just made me go all weak in the knees. Do you have a similar encounter or have you seen worst and heard worst than me? Please share. I'm not bragging about this, but I just feel that why should "that thing" disturbs anyone at all. Do share, thanks so much..

Woah.... don't be so afraid, my friend. The spirit was a friendly, happy one. It won't harm anybody. In fact, you could talk to it, and tell it it's scaring you... ask what it wants. It sounds to me as though it could either be the spirit of a previous toilet attendant or cleaner in your works building, or if the building was something else before, maybe a resident or cleaner. She's happy in her visits or she wouldn't be humming.
Ok... I've seen, heard and felt, lots of spirits. My home has several in it, and mostly in two, particular rooms... my bedroom, and this room where my computer is, but they've never harmed me, and I feel protected. Other times have been on the moors, in the cemetery, in the local school, at two ancient sites, and in the forest. Some I never see, but I feel, and others have materialised themselves. Some have knocked on a board in front of my bedroom fireplace, and some transfer messages into my head. I know they do it, because I stare into space for a while, then start writing down the message. But at NO time have I ever been fearful. My guardian spirit is there as well, so no harm will come, and I really don't think your spirit will harm you.
It's always spooky the first time, but I quite like having mine around now. Brightest Blessings, my friend.

Sorry friend for the late reply. I truly admire your bravery on this as well, and I hope that someday I would have the courage to not "be scared" at all. If it's true that the spirit is a happy and friendly one, then I would not be obligated to not use the restroom again.

There's was just a segment on our local news channel last night about a haunted police station in the western part of my state. One of the 'incidents' there also occurred in their restroom.
Anyway, I guess from now on try to 'go' before midnight and the hold it until dawn and then you should be able to avoid any more bathroom encounters. She probably isn't intentionally trying to disturb you, she's in a different plane and has no idea you're even there...I mean if you were a female ghost would you hang out in the men's room? Do some research on the building to find out what it's been used for in the past...it might shed some light on the bathroom humming ghost.

I looked all over the news channel's site but couldn't find it. It was a few weeks ago and their search engine doesn't work too well...I put in 'haunted police station' in the search box and ended up getting every police report and every article that had any of those words in it.

Thanks so much foxy for sharing the story with me. Is there a url for that local news or something so that I could see it? By the way, I think that your advice is possible because I could certainly not go to the restroom until dawn. I just have to keep myself busy with work and mylot then,

are you sure it is just not one of your friends making fun and teasing you, trying to scare you? College students are known for making pranks,
But to answer your question I do have psychic ability, I have dreams that come true, and I have feelings where I know about the immediate future.

Hello there winterose, if you don't mind, do you have the url to your articles? Perhaps I could read it. I am sure it was not a prank because it was way past 2 AM already. I wish for it to be a prank, my friend because now to go to that washroom again, I need to recuperate on my bravery, ha! You are really lucky to be psychic, I envy you for that. Well it sounds like a friendly spirit that you heard. I would not be concerned at all. If you heard a malicious sounding 'GET OUT!' then I would be concerned.
I went out with a guy whose parents house, a very old farm house, was haunted with a maid. She washed dishes, swept the floor and made beds. They were not concerned and had never been harmed.
If I could find a house with ghosts like that I would buy it!
I envy you, I would not mind some ghostly experiences..if noting else, it shows there is life beyond what we know.

Its all in the head.. Sometimes we know that something might happen and will happen.. similarly, If you think there are ghosts and spirits and trolls and yetis, then you surely gonna feel one around you. Its always in the head. You just have to make your head away from that thought and you'd be fine. I do not believe in ghosts but have always thought what if I was accosted by one on my way to the toilet.. 
. Anyways. think of something different when someone says that there are ghosts and all. There are nothing like ghosts or spirits. Or else there are so many unsatisfied souls out there that they would have their own cities and colonies..

Unsatisfied souls are what my colleagues told me as well. It is a different experience to be hearing the story than to experience it first-hand, and I used to think that these stories are just nonsense but when I experienced it that day, I was really so dumbfounded. But you are right and I agree with you that it is better not to think about their existence so much. Thanks for posting and have a nice day to you.

Hi. I have two questions ... do you have any female co-workers on the night shift and are the female toilets located adjacent to the mens? My reason for asking is that I had a similar spooky experience to yours once, only to find out that there was a vent between the male and female toilets and you could hear everything that went on in the opposite bathrooms. It is not as exciting as there being a ghost, but it might be another explanation.

Hello there penny, I think the female toilets are not within that area because they are at the other far end. I think the toilets are made in such a way for security reasons, so that definitely beats the reason that the voice I heard was one of them humming. But I need to get this checked out as well, like who knows there are loopholes and those are voices of my female co-workers. Thanks for giving me this idea and thank you for posting. Take care there.

These type of incident are rare but still they usually occur and there is every chance to believe it. I personally believe on ghosts and though i had not encounter such events but still i believed them. They are really frightening and are really unbearable. The only thing to do in this situation is get out quickly or take the name of god.

Thanks jayalaksmi for your input on this. I try not to be scared at all because I know that all of us humans and also these "spirits" come from God and we will all return to Him someday. But the fact that these spirits are hidden, it makes the scare factor seems visible because of the "unexpected" appearances.

Zed,so she was humming huh? Sounds like a happy spirit to me. I agree with Darkwing. This spirit is just checking "her" place out. She just likes to go in the mens room...lol! Don't be afraid of her or any other ghosts. I would be more afraid of the living...
I'am a sensitive/emphatic. I sense and see them around me. I'm also able to see ghosts and other anomolies in photos where other people are unable to.
Usually what I do whenever a ghost "seems lost" is to try and send it to "the light". Take care.

I have never heard of a haunted toilet. LOL. Seriously though, I have had many encounters in my lifetime. I lived in a house once when I was between 10 and 14 years old that we believed to be haunted. Several things happened while we were there, but the one that scared me the most was the one day I was home by myself after school. I was sitting on the couch watching t.v. and someone left a butter knife on the arm of the couch (my older brother was a slob). The knife was at the opposite end of the couch from where I was sitting. Out of nowhere, that knife flew across the room at least 5 feet and landed on the floor. Needless to say, I sat on the porch until my dad arrived home.
We have little things happen in our house now, but nothing that major. Mostly we just hear someone walking up and down the steps. I just tell myself they are not trying to harm us so there is nothing to worry about.

Hi zed_k4! Oh oh, that is scary! I think if it happens to me, I wouldn't know if I can even walk out of there. Good thing that she didn't show herself to you.
I did have an encounter too but it happened a long time ago when I was still in high school with my friends. Not too scary when you are in a group. We have seen a while lady when we are on our way home. It was past midnight then and we have to pass a cemetery along the highway. We were kinda shocked to see a young lady on a white dress that seems to be floating near the road. We didn't see the face just the long hair. We all freaked out that night! Hi zed-k4! It was really scary but because it happened a long time ago, I can sleep well except for the times when suddenly I remember it and I am alone at home.

Hello there faith, yes you are truly right, lucky me that she didn't "show" her face at all, for I think I would have fainted there and then. Hey, your story is really scary too. Though in a group, you must have felt frightened when you were on your way home, right? Sorry to hear about that and I hope that you will never get that kind of encounter again. Yes my friend, it is a real story and I experience it first-hand. Some of my colleagues did as well, but theirs were more scarier encounters than me. Based from some of the answers of our friends, they told me that perhaps it was a friendly spirit or someone who wants to "communicate". I believe that the spirit meant no untoward harm to me since my colleagues had not experienced beating or anything worst than that. It's just the voices and the sight and that was what contributed to the over-alarming feeling. I hope that you will never have this kind of encounter for you will definitely feel scared for a bit. Before i heard this i did not belive in ghost or spirites i am christian but i belive you :D

it was a year ago,in my room, all alone. I went to bed and was about to sleep. I just finished replying to a friend's sms. I usually face the wall, then suddenly In felt a movement from one side of my bed. Its as if somebody sat on it. I knew I was alone in my room so I kinda freaked (froze actually...). My room is really cold so i usually wrap myself with my comforter. Then I felt "somebody" poke my arm. (It was my right arm, the wall's on my left.)It felt like being poked by ice, it was freakin cold. "it" poked me thrice. After the 3rd, I did my best to move. I managed to move and decided to occupy as much space on my bed as I could so "it" wont be able to stay there. And then it" hit again. "It" touched my neck. And that was it. I scrambled out of my bed, pulled my pillow and looked back at my bed before running out of my room. (thinking of it now, looking back at my bed was a really stupid choice for someone freakin out.)
that was just one of my "ghostly experiences"...
thought by now i'm used to it, but no. It still creeps the s**t out of me...

Sounds like you had quite the experience Zed. I think the most scariest thing that has happend to me is a week ago where I live alone w/ just my cat. I was at my computer like I am everyday and it felt like someone was touching myside. My cat will useally put his paws up on me wanting to get my attention. I went to tell my cat to stop it and he wasn't there. My heart started beating fast. I said to myself if that wasn't the cat then what was it? I called the cat who I heard jump off his cat play house I got him which is in the kitchen he came into the living room half asleep looking at me like "what?".
But scary it was to feel like I did.

I know for a fact that animals like cats and dogs could see "spirits" and that is why perhaps they bark or act weird to get our attention.

i have lots of experience bout spirits,and its really never easy to be at ease with them.infact many times i freakd out and scream,only in the end,i will look like crazy to other people.
infact we live evryday with spirits around us,there are sum that really as for attention,and its us who attract them to approach on us.
wen i was lil girl i used to see ladies at our school that others dont see,a teacher of mine calld my parents cos she said im halucinating.
until now i hear feel and see things that eyes cant just identify,smokes like figure,and to this day i still got scared sumtimes,,,cos i dont have the ability to control when,where and what i wnat to see.
i had this experience im at the singing contest,i cant here what im singing cos theres this voice im hearing...first humming then it became louder and louder i hear"come to me my darling"
on the side of the stage i saw a girl in black gown,as if shes singing,but looking on her feet,when im done on my song,i went off the stage just in time she raised her head and saw her eyes are all black and no eyebrows,i cant talk after that,i was waiting for her turn to sing but never saw her on stage.i won the 2nd price and on our way home i saw her again accrosed the street holding same trophy of mine,i ask my fren if they saw it,they just said its just a shadow...
so i gues not all people are gifted as we are...think it as a gift...acceptance can help us more...

Hello lady, I'm so sorry to find out that you have encountered such experiences. I think you have that 'gift' that could also be a bit of a discomfort for you. I would freak out if I were in your situation. But maybe you have that extra 'bravery' in you so that's why you aren't frightened at all.

I have actually had this happen. It was a couple of months ago. I was sitting at my computer and that was the only thing on in the house. I heard a little girl talking. It was so soft that I could not understand what was being said exactly.This happened twice. I looked all over the house and made sure that there were no Tv's or other noise makers on. I was totally freaked out! I have had other mysterious things happen too. I have heard cabinets and doors slam. A friends child said that he heard foot steps in a room that no one had been in. I know that there is probably a good explanation for all that has happened in my house, but yet it is still rather scary when you do not know what causes this.

Hello there barbiegirl, thanks for your story. I really felt it to be scary. Do you know about the history of your house? Perhaps there is more to it than needs to be known. I love historical facts, and maybe the little girl's voice have something to do with the house. But try not to be scared too much, for we still have our normal lives to lead. Be brave, be curious, but stay away from danger.

Whoa! That is really scary. I bet you are still can remember the sound.
I used to not believe such myself but time that I didn't believe that it haunted me. I didn't hear a voice but in the darkest hour outside my office on a glass wall, a kid knocked and it was just the day when I was about to leave, the guard was sorry that he forgot I was still in my office and he put off the lights on the corridors. It was only that time that I wondered who's kid knocked when I was there working in the middle of the night. What came into my mind when I saw the kid was, "why is he still awake at that time and I thought maybe his mother or father on overtime might have brought him around work place." And just didn't mind him. I just smiled when he knocked and brought my attention back to my papers. All I know was the curtains are open and I can see him out in the corridor looking at me. I could not even recall how he left or was he there watching for a long time.
I was scared when I learned from the guard that I was the only person on the building who had overtime. I didn't believe in ghosts all my life but at that time that I learned that all the lights in the corridors were off and someone knocked me and it was a kid, I was really scared and never had to do overtime over at my workplace since then. I brought home all the papers and work overnight at home instead.
It still plays in my mind. I didn't see that kid's face in our building before so I was also wondering. Whoow!

My sister had a similar encounter, she has always had a kind of sixth sense if you will but a few years ago she moved into her home and she lives along a lane where she only has few neighbors and they are spaced far apart anyways she was walking from her neighbors house one night and heard someone whistling and she looked around and saw no one, after she heard this several times she of course knew it was a spirit and we now call him "the whistler" she spoke to a few neighbors and found out the old man who used to live in her home was always outside whistling while he was doing yard work and such. She is also visited by other spirits, my grandmother being one, she can smell the perfume she used to wear.
I've had one weird experience also, not so weird as it was amazing to me, my husbands mother passed away 2 years ago, she was also a very spiritual person, a few days after she passed I (and my husband also) saw an orb which I believe was her just coming to say she is at peace and on her way to the promise land and to bid her farewell. Never saw anything like it before.

I know what its like to be creeped out by unexplained things. I have to deal with ghosts everyday, I tend to draw them to me. I even grew up in a haunted house. I wouldnt be to worried about a womans humming, I dont think she meant to scare you. She could of done something a lot creepier if she wanted to do that.

I believe that spirits do exists, b/c I have felt them while I was with my family. For instance, when I was with my cousins, aunts, friends and sisters we where praying b/c one of our uncles had past away 9 days ago, and when we finished praying we blew out the candle. When it was time to go to sleep the house was really dark and there was no light b/c I live in Dominican Republic. So we decided to go to sleep but when we went to sleep we started hearing steps in the house (the floor was made from wood) and we started hearing noises. We were so scared and we were saying "who is it?" We thought it was one of our cousins playing around but it wasn't him... Then we started seeing things and hearing our uncles voice, he was saying to pray for him alot more! It was a really scary night b/c I never experienced something like that in my life.
