My mom is the same way. In fact, no dog to this day is allowed in any of the bedrooms or front room. Only the kitchen or basement. Claims she doesn't want dog fur everywhere or them going to the bathroom on the carpets. Funny but she claims she will never eat here at my house cause of all the dog/cat hair yet she keeps her golden retriever in the kitchen. Makes no sense to me but then, my mom never made sense. In my house, my animals are all welcome on our bed or couch long as they don't fight over spots.

how sad. what's the point in having a dog if they don't spend the evenings with you as part of the family.

Hi chenpan. My pets ever sleep with my and my daughter. No problems with our health. Sorry for you can't sleep with your pet. But when you have your own home you can do that for sure lol. cheers

I don't because I don't like having things on top of the blanket while I sleep, it makes me feel constrained. but it's not unhealthy to have an animal sleeping in the room with you or even on your bed. exposure to animal hair isn't a health risk, in fact, children growing up around animals are less likely to develop allergies.

My one cat usually sleeps on my bed. Right now he's shedding, but I don't mind, I shake the sheets out the window.

My dogs and cats sleep with me on my bed. Dog hair isn't really bad unless they are shedding. Honestly its kind of nice to wake up and pet a dog sitting on your lap. Makes the wakeup a little more pleasant. I can't think of a way that it would be insanitary as long as you keep your pet healthy and clean. The worst thing I could see coming from this (health wise) is a couple of ticks jumping ship, but ticks happen anyways. Or maybe if you have a monster dog and it accidentally smothers you with its fat in your sleep 0.0 lol. But it is a matter of personal preference. if your mother doesn't allow it I don't think it'd be worth a fight over it, but if you want to do it when you move out or whatever it isn't bad or anything. My cats sleep with me. They like to sleep on my pillow, they take turns.
