Changing the story. / myLot

I know we all know how the story ended, but if you could rewrite it, what would you change? I would love to have seen Snape live. Would it have been possibly for Harry and Malfoy to become friends? I would not have killed off Dobby. What ideas do you have? Remember, we're changing things, so maybe the ending could change too.

I was really disappointed in much of the last book. It was so long, but didn't really developed or do justice to the sub-plots, kwim? I read an article before the book came out that I thought JK said 3 main characters would die. Now I guess it depends on who you consider a "main" character but by my count there was at least a half a dozen deaths of pretty signifigant characters. I think Malfoy's minor character changes could have been deeper. Killing Lupin & Tonks "off camera" so to speak, was lame- I think Lupin was important enough throughout the series to warrant more than just a casual mention of coming across their bodies.

I liked the last book, but it took a couple of readings before I actually got everything straight. The first time through I guess I was in a hurry to get to the end and kind of speeded over several key paragraphs. I had a lot of questions that I had to check back for. I agree about Malfoy, I think that with the right push at the right time, he might have been brought over to the right side and could have ended up fighting beside Harry. I tend to look at the characters with the thought of whether or not I could be friends with them. Lupin and Tonks I would like to have known. Thanks for answering.

I do not pay much attention to things like that lol. If you wanna change some things in the story though, you can write your own fanfiction and put it on fanfiction.net though. I'm sure there are lots of great Harry Potter stories on that site that you would like.
