I'm Welling Up With Tears Of Happiness Right Now, Something Lovely Just Happen

It is my birthday next week and usually I will receive maybe £20 in a card form my dad. For the last two years I have been saving up to be able to carpet my home but each time I have almost enough a major bill arrived, car needed work for MOT that sort of thing and have never managed it, well not having any carpet makes the home look shabby even when clean and tidy and was beginning to get to me a bit, but other stuff more than material things matter more. I have just spoken to my father to see how he is and he told me to go order the carpet I need and he will send a cheque for it for my birthday. Wow I am amazed the last big pressie I had was when I was eighteen and that was a full length leather coat which I loved and I'm 45 next week so just overwhelmed with emotion as that is so lovely. Have you ever had such a lovely surprise whether for your birthday or not and how did it make you feel? Ellie :D

Thanks Littleowl, It was so totally unexpected as like I said I may get £20 in a card usually so for him to do something like this is just so wonderful. Years of helping others is finally paying off eh! LOL. I have had a lucky year in that respect but a tough one so far in other areas, but that the rollercoaster ride of life eh! Ellie :D

Hi Ellie-I firmly believe that sometimes no matter how hard things get for us-whatever good we still give out and help etc we will at sometime receive it back-so I agree with you now is the time for you to be blessed with things you need and the carpet being the first many blessings littleowl

Oh Thank you so much Winterose, I am so excited, I was working today but have tomorrow off so I will pop up to the local carpet place and have a look what is available. It will be lovely next winter as having carpet will make the house warmer too. Ellie :D1 person likes this

I got an artwork once. An expencive one by a wellknown artist here. It is the perfect gift. I just love it, and I see it all day every day. just like you will with your carpet.

Thank you for sharing, that is such a lovely gift to receive and like you say one that you can look at and apprecite everyday. I have a friend that paints and I have two of her paintings on my wall so she is constantly with me in my thoughts too. I was just so surprised, it was so unexpected. Yippee. Ellie :D

That is so lovely Ellie. What a wonderful present from your Dad. I have had lots of things in my time but getting something like that from someone that loves you so much is special. You will think of him every time that you walk on it. A very special present. For a very special girl.

What a wonderful Dad you have! He must have known how much a new carpet would mean to you. He obviosuly wanted to help and to make you feel good on your birthday.
I'm sure your Dad will be celebrating with you on your birthday, and I wish you a very happy birthday for next week.

Yes my dad is a good guy but I never expected something like that from him, usually my brother has to remind him when my birthday is LOL. I am still in shock I think but yes he must have known how much having carpet would mean to me and it is lovely that he has been able to make this happen for me. I am blessed. I will certainly enjoy my birthday, thank you. Ellie :D

That is so great, it always makes us feel good when someone does things like that for us. My dad passed away in 2006 and for Christmas a friend took an old picture of me and my dad that was taken a few days after I was born and had it made into an 8X10. It was the best gift I have ever gotten, boy did the tears flow. I am happy for you and happy early birthday!

Oh that was amazing of your friend to do that for you, I can imagine the tears did flow, sorry about the loss of your father, mine is ill at the moment so can empathize as I have had so much worry of him, but when he said for me to go order carpet and he would send a cheque for it for my birthday I was just so very shocked but happy about it too. Hi Steph, Well it was the first time since my eighteenth that I have received a decnt present from him and it was lovely, I think his recent battle with ancer caused him to reevaluate a lot of things and I found this gesture heartwarming. Sorry you no longer have your father living. Huggles. Ellie :D

Oh lordy! Dunno if it's my PC or myLot playing up but I typed a response and it's disappeared LOL!
Was just saying that I guess it must be your birthday around now or some time soon (hope it hasn't passed) and just wanted to wish you a very happy birthday and so pleased for you at getting your new carpet soon. I wish your carpet a long and happy and clean life hehe - long made it look brand spanking new! xx
The nicest thing anyone did for me was last year on my 40th birthday my hubby arranged a surprise party for me at my parents house and invited about 50 friends and family members and did all of the cooking pretty much himself which was amazing, considering we were out with 70 friends the night before, many of whom attended on the Saturday as well - which was even more special as quite a few had rotten hangovers LOL! I don't think hubby can top this as a lovely surprise nor does he need to :)

Oh indeed, hun, well firstly I hope you had a lovely day yesterday! One of my close friends' birthday is today - so good people have birthdays around this time hehe!
Yes you make sure those dirty shoes don't go traipsing over your new carpet and careful with drinks. We re-carpeted our whole home nearly 2 years ago and by forcing people to take their shoes off in the corridor, our lovely new carpet still looks brand spanking new to this day! We spent a fortune on the carpet and it's very luxurious so people actually love walking on it barefoot or with socks when they visit! x

LOL That happens to me too sometimes usually on PMs more than on here. Thanks for the birthday wishes it was 28th yesterday but I was working all day and night so today is the day really and funnily enough all my cards arrived today too and my daughter taking me shopping on Friday so like you're 40th extended over a few days. That was a wonderful thing that your husband done for you, just goes to show how much he loves and cares for you, especially to do most of the cooking too and for the hungover friends to attend the following night with hangovers, great. I suppose just topping up from your fabulous night the night before. I am so pleased to hear that your hubby made it so special for you.
It'll be shoes off at the door and no drinks in the lounge for quite some time I think!

My son and I got a real surprise at christmas time wellno more like New Years when a huge package arrived at our front door. WE did not expect it and had not ordered anything. So my son got it open and there it was a state of the art Microwave a samsung and it was just beautiful. An internetfriend of my son's had learned thatour old microwave oven had destroyed itself just before New Years and burnt up inside. Now I have the best microwave oven I have ever had and it had not cost us a penny.
