We all philosophize that music is universal, having no language, caste, religious or communal barriers. but is it alone going to win us our daily bread? Dont you think english is a more universal language than what the pundits say, namely that music is divine and universal, and speaks all languages?

Of course, only a few can earn their living from music, but that does not mean that music be not more universal than English. I'm sure there are more people that recognize a song from The Beatles than people that can read and understand the text of it.

Youre right, as Mr.shanmukutty says, music can express the subtlest expessions of the human soul, which no language can ever do!

both of them are universal and having their own value, one can't compare between them.

I was only asking your aesthetic opinion. We all know that English is essential for a decent survival in the world. But we also know that there is no soul without music. True, one cant be compared with the other, but as mr. Shanmukutty says, music can express many facets of human nature and suble expressions of the soul that even English cant do!
