Website design help!

Does anyone know where I can go to get really cheap web design done? I already have the layout and everything set. I just need it to be pretty. Right now my site is a mess of color and logo and stuff. I need a nice logo and a matching background to go with it. My site came with all of that but I didn't like it. So I made it worse! But really, when I got it it was this terribly ugly blue swirly background with the ugliest yellow logo with the ugliest font ever. Now it is only a little better. Or a little worse. Depends on your taste. Either way it needs some CHEAP help. Anyone know where to direct me? I have Googled some stuff but haven't come up with much that I like.

What I would do is get Wordpress or Drupal. If you decide on one of these you will have to upload it to your root server - you will need mysql and php. You will have to set up a database and get the database name, password, and host name...You can download wordpress at http://wordpress.org or Drupal at http://drupal.org. Both are free. They also both have much better "how-to"s" on installing it than I could ever explain to anyone! After you get it set up, you can then download from literrally hundreds of free website designs. Just type in "free wordpress themes" or "free drupal themes" depending on which one you decide to go with - you just upload them to the server, activate them, and then you can enter your logo/pictures/play around with what's in the sidebars and more. The other thing you can do is try to use a free software called Kompozer - it is a WYSIWG editor - then it just converts it to html & you upload it to your server. I don't like this method though because then you have a static page that's a pain in the neck to update or change!! Anyways, if you want to send me the link (pm it because i don't always get back to discussions i reply to!) I'll see what you could maybe try to do with it. It takes a lot of patience, but I'm sure you'll be able to figure it out!! You can take a look at what my sites made from Wordpress look like at http://itmightbelove.com and http://bestofstupid.com. Good luck!!

my host actually has fantastico and i have lots of choices including wordpress, drupal and lots of others to create my website. But they are all still confusing. I don't want a blog site though so WP and other blogs are out. I tried Joomla and Mambo but couldn't figure them out.

what's the purpose of your website? is it corporate or what? blending of colors and logos depend on the use... when designing corporate sites or something like that, monochromatic colors will do great.. meaning different shades of the same color with some black or white... or if you have a logo designed, you can base background colors, font colors and whatever more to the colors of the logo... hope this helps... i'll try to find some site for you...
