Sad Day for a Deer

I was driving to my first client's house today when I spied a most sad sight. There was a doe laying beside the road. She seemed to be laying there looking at the scenery. I noticed her little leg was laying in a crooked way. She must have been struck by a vehicle and crumpled on the side of the road.
It was all I could do not to stop. There was a woman who stopped and was walking toward the poor little deer. It tugged at my heart. Sometimes they are able to take the animals to the vet and have them treated for their injuries. A local park takes them in once they are on the mend and cares for them. I hope that this was the ending to this story. I'd rather not think of what else might have happened.

It is sad that someone can hit and run after injuring or even killing and animal like a deer or any other animal. some even go out of their way to hit animals just because they were there. It too bad that these people that hit the deer got away without having to get a ticket or even the insurance surcharge for having an accident.

something like this happened to me as well, cept it was 2 in the morning and the poor thing had just been struck... my grandpa got someone to call a police officer and put her down gently... it was very sad and i crie :(

it is really sad when people just hit an animal and run away just like that... it is very irresponsible and heartless... it makes my heart boils and wish for the driver to receive the karma... anyway, i also wish that the deer will be alright and can be treated for the crooked leg... poor deer...

I hope too that this dear was rescued or at least humanely put to sleep. I'm glad that this lady stopped. It would have been a horrible thing to see.

Ok that is really sad, and I now have a lump in my throat, I guess the best thing to do is imagine that someone helped the little deer, got it to a vet, and they had to operate on it but managed to set the leg and plaster it. The deer will be sent to an animal sanctuary until it is recovered and will be fine. I think if I imagined that then I could feel a bit better!

I am so happy the vet will look after them and then they go to a local park, what a wonderful humane thing to do.

Oh this is so sad... I pray someone will get this animal in and get it taken care of...

It hurts me to see stuff like that too...especially if they are still alive. It makes me wonder about the driver that hit them too. If they will hit an animal and leave it lying there to suffer and die, does that mean they'd do the same to a child or a person? I guess to me it shows how much compassion and caring a person has...I couldn't do something like that.

Usually if it is still alive they will do everything they can to help it. It's really terrible that someone would hit it and not even call help for it...imagine if it was a child and not a deer. I hope it turned out well too.

This reminds me of when i was in 11th grade. I was driving on my way to school and I was only going 30 and on the corner was a deer and "SMASH" I hit him. Then he limped away into the woods. I cried and cried and I called my dad telling him I hit a deer and he said are you okay? I said yea but the deer and I dented my license plate! lol those were the only 2 things I cared about.
