Unprescribed Clomid

So, based on what I've read on a lot of forums and websites, there seems to be a growing number of women who are using unprescribed clomid in hopes of having twins or more. From what I've seen, it seems like this work. The chance of multiples in annovulatory women is 5-10% but there is little to no information on the liklihood of multiples in ovulatory women. From what I've gathered here and there, it looks like the chance of multiples is 75% or higher! I'm hoping to organize a study with women who are taking clomid unprescribed and recording the outcomes in order to get a more accurate result.

That sounds pretty risky. I don't know what it is, never heard of it, but it sounds like it's a hormone or something? Like the opposite of birth control pills? If so, this will have long term negative health effects on the mother. Probably won't harm the children except for the risks involved in twin or more births. I sure hope people know what they are getting into with these kinds of things.

I don't know about women taking it unprescribed, but a girl I know just found out she's pregnant with triplets after taking it.

I think that there is a danger in women getting Clomid over the internet without a prescription from someone responsible that knows their medical history. I have worked with a lady that was trying to have a baby and it was so stressful for her to be so unsuccessful. At the same time I worked with a lady that had tried to get pregnant for 10 years then gone down the medical assistance route. She had triplet boys and she makes a wonderful mother. I taught the three wonderful boys. By the sounds of it the early days were challenging for her and her husband. Currently I know a lady with two year old twin girls and a four year old girl. I think that having twins must be wonderful but the birth might be medical and far from natural. Whilst I would be happy to adopt twins if I was trying to get pregnant I wouldn't be taking Clomid, hoping for a multiple pregnancy. Good luck with your studies.

I just had a baby 10 weeks ago that was concieved using prescribed clomid. After 4 years of trying for baby# 2 the dr decided to give it a whirl. I only had 1 precious baby boy :)
