Someone broke into a local restaurant

There is a very small village that is about 8 miles away from us. They have a restaurant, drive-thru, small market, hardware store. Anyway, someone broke into the back door of the restaurant, fixed themselves something to eat, and left. They did not take anything but the food they fixed. How strange is that?

Very strange. A hungry, honest thief perhaps?

Pretty strange! If I was the cops or an investigator I'd wonder if it was someone connected to the place, but was drunk or something, and got the muchies..

That is kind of weird to say the very least. My take on it would be that somebody was starving (and possibly homeless) and that they didn't want to steal, just to eat. Sounds more like an act of desperation more than a robbery, especially since no money or anything else was taken.

that's probably going to happen more often with the economy the way it is.people's hungry. that's happened near me once or twice-one time the guys said they did it because they didn't know where the food bank was.

It sounds like a small town to me. It also sounds a bit like the days when the hobos rode the rails, only wanting a bit to eat and to go on to home.

That's so sad, but what's worse, there's going to be more of this happening as food prices goes up. People will steal gas and food if this situation that we are in keeps getting worse. I never thought in my life that when I went to a store I would only be able to buy one bag of rice because there is a shortage. I just hope and pray that this gets better soon.

I think it's because they were hungry, sorry to stay. People are lacking more and more acces to food as gas prices go up nd food gets more expensive.

I'd heard of a house that was broken into with the same result before..Though it does seem a little odd that somebody would break into a place for no other reason than the munchies!

Talk about a bad case of the munchies! It would have been funny if there were video cameras to catch whoever did it. I'll bet it's someone everyone would know, in such a small town.

That is pretty weird and it got a little chuckle out of me. lol The person(s) must've been really hungry or really loved their food. lol I'm glad they didn't take anything else though but it is sort of funny.

Very strange but it might be happening more if things don't straighten out.. You can just fill er up and then go break in your local grocery store and help yourselves to their food.. Not sure if this break in was due to the economy or not, I might have taken enough to feed my family for awhile, or it might have been just some random act of stupidity..
