Is weight lifting an effective way to lose weight? Or should I do more strenuous exercise? Please post opinions and/or facts. Thanks.

Hi there. Lifting weights, is part of losing weight. It is more for toning your muscles, your body. Checkout this article on weights for toning. Have a great day... http://www.exrx.net/WeightTraining/Toning.html

Experts say that our bodies need both a cardio workout as well as strength training. I have been seriously trying to lose extra pounds for the past three weeks. I belong to a great, free site called Spark People. They even provide exercise demonstrations, groups, discussions, and more. Cardio workouts can be as simple as mowing the lawn. Using weights is a great way to tone. Here is the link to Spark People. http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/get_started.asp Best Wishes and Welcome to myLot.
