Tell us the name of the antivirus that you think is the best. Doesn't matter if it is free or not. Which antivirus do you think is the best ? I personally like NOD32.

I use Avira Antivir as my currently antivirus to protect my computer system. And it is free of course. Frankly speaking I don’t have much knowledge about anti virus and I was told that almost all the antivirus softwares have the similar function so I let the technician to install any soft ware he wishes.

I use Avast. * Avast works with both of my operating systems, Linux Dapper Drake + Windows XP Home. The home version is free. It does one thing, block, or if caught, clear viruses from your machine. That's two so it has a very light footprint which is important to me. When it comes to computer programs, I like small, one trick ponies.

For me, the best would be those like G-Data and Trustport. The reason is that these two uses more than one scan engine. Most other anti-virus programs use only one scan engine. With two (or more) scan engines, you can be more confident that your anti-virus will be able to detect any kind of virus that goes in your computer. The only drawback of having two or more scan engines is of course it will use more system resources and it's not that practical to use at home.

I am with Kaspersky. its not free-ware. But it protect ur system from most of the threats. ANd also from malwares, spam. It also comes with parental control fire wall. And it doesnot slow ur system. So My vote goes for Kaspersky.

I like Trend Micro. I think that AVG is probably the worst.. I think his stoftware isnt great and gives people a false sense of security.

I love my free AVG and it does a great job of deleting any virus that dares to show its ugly face on mycomputer. lol sure beats the high cost of Norton and its ineffectiveness over the long haul. Macaffee is also too expenxive for my tastes
