Disappearing Act

If you were to vanish from myLot for an extended period of time, do you have a family member, or a friend, who would let the other concerned members know what's happened to you? This has come to my mind, because I've noticed some here, missing people of late, and showing concern for what's become of them. Would your family member or friend, let 'the community' know, even if they themselves don't participate here? By this I mean, would they sign up, just to inform others about you? Would you want them to do this, or do you feel it's not important? Do you have somebody you know, who's already a member here, that would let others know of your whereabouts?

This is a very good question. I probably would feel it would not be that important, like really who would care about me. Up until this month nobody would tell anyone on any of the activities I do here on the internet that I was gone for whatever reason. But now my son is also on mylot and he will probably do it.

Hi someonesmom No I dont have anyone on mylot that could let my friends know that there is something wrong. But I do have a couple of special friends on here that keep in touch with me by phone and they would let everyone else know why Im not participating here. I have often wondered the same thing.

Good Morning Someonesmom, yes my husband would log in under my name and let everyone know what happened. I aslo have friends I talk to over the phone that could deliver messages. I am with you, as of late there are lots of folks that I am worried about.. I have not seen or heard from Eaforeman for ages now, I have sent emails to her pm's and have gotten nothing. Then there is Adoniah, pammid, several others. It concerns me.

I guess it would depend on how often I saw them on here...i is a very large community. However, I have been concerned about poeople on message boards who go from extremely active to GONE. Usually there will be a few who notice the 'missing link' at the same time.

If I was able to instruct someone to log in here to inform everyone of the situation then I absolutely would but no one would know to do it on their own. If I was incapacitated or worse, none of you would ever know.

If I was to suddenly disappear from mylot I would want others on here to know what happened, even if I couldn't let them know myself. Unfortunately the only person that could do this for me is my husband and he hates to type LOL, so I couldn't see him posting to let the community know what happened to me. He does have a mylot account, but barely participated after he signed up and that was months ago!

Well my problem someonesmom, is that I don't have any family members now..yes, I do have an Aunt out in Calif but we're not close and she's quite frankly a ditz with computers....my other friend doesn't have a computer at all. If God forbid something happened to me I would hope I had time to at least email one of my friends here to let them know what was happening to me. I have another friend with a computer, but like my aunt she is a bit computer challenged--so back to the idea that I would tell one of my friends already here of my happenings. There are so many of my friends missing, and even though I've emailed them (like our one mutual friend) I haven't heard from them, especially you know who

I want that to happen but I think there no body in my family will do that. They are not in fun to use the computer or internet. I'm the only one who is interested doing this my children are too young for doing it for me. I got sister in law but I don't know if she is willing to do it may yes or no. Like in what happen to me a week ago I did not log in because I suffered for eye infection so I have to wait till I'm alright to be here again.

Hmmm... well, if I could then I would create a discussion that I will be gone for sometime or I will PM or send a private message to some friends online who I always came accross to inform them that I will be gone for sometime but I will be back. Mylot has become a part of me even I just joined in and I plan to really stay here no matter what so yes, I will let someone know. Cheers~!

My husband may come on here and say something on his own, but I doubt it. I would have to ask him to go do it.

My husband is a member of the Mylot community and would definately let everyone know if something were to happen to were I was unable to be here for an extended time. Even before he got his computer and signed up he knew my information and would have been able to log in to let everyone know. If you have friends on here, and we all do, then it is important to let your friends know what has happened to you.

I have never really given this much thought before to tell you the truth. I guess if it did happen I would ask my hubby to get a message through on here for me, depending on what had happened of course to keep me away. He would be able to put it up through my account anyway as I never log out of here it is saved on my favourites and so he does not have to sign in!! I would hate to think of anyone who knows me wandering where I was and never knowing.
