My Doggie Ran Away!!!!

Well my big boy today decided to act like a puppy hes 10 years old but decided to go running in the rain. We sent him outside this morning at 8am and went to feed him and he was gone. I drove all over looking for him amd nothing not even a sighting of him. I was getting sad I thought he was gone for good. Well he finally came home at like 2pm soaking wet but looking pretty happy. It seems he had himself a good ole time at my expense. So anyone else have some funny, sad, scary or just any animals stories to share with me?Doesnt have to be pets any funny wild animals in you area that you just love to watch?

Is your pet microchiped? I used to work for the company that does that so I have a lot of funny stories about other peoples pets getting lost. The funniest was when the dog ran out the door while the person was registering its chip.

No I got this dog from someone else and well I just didnt think getting him microchipped at 10 years was a good idea. But I am gonna get some tags for him now. That is too funny did they find the dog after he ran?

When my oldest chihuahua was a puppy she ran away. I chased after her and slipped down a gully and busted my arm. I had to be taken to the hospital but I daughter searched for her for hours but could not find her. I was at the hospital for 5 hours and when I got home there was still no sign of her. I cried all night as she was so tiny and we had a very cold night (only 23F). Next morning when I got up to let the other 2 dogs out I heard a strange noise at the front door. I opened it to find my tiny baby curled in a corner shivering with cold. I was overjoyed. Although my souvenir from that night is a silver plate with 2 screws in it to put my elbow back where it belonged!!

I'm so glad he came back home. My lab/boxer dog, Sofie, is outside right now. She managed to get out of her collar and leash last night when I took her out to use the bathroom. She has been running around outside ever since and I can't catch her. When she gets out like that we just have to let her wear herself out and when she gets tired she'll come back inside or we grab her. She likes to sleep in our bed so maybe she'll get sleepy before night and come back in.

She's too smart for that. That's my problem. All my dogs are smarter than me. But my husband caught her. She was laying on the porch and she couldn't get up in time. I think she was about ready to come in though. I gave her a bath and she went right to sleep.

When I had my dog he got out of the house and was gone for FOUR days! I was sick! I bet I wasted at least a couple of tanks of gas looking for him. I knew that he wasn't at the pound as he was too smart to let anyone catch him. The kids were just sick and so was I....on the fourth day he comes walking down the street like nothing was wrong! He stunk like lake water so I also knew he had a good time! When he saw me he just came running like he had missed me....I however was not in the mood to be lovey! LOL...he got a good chewing out....and grounded to the chain for a week! LOL.....I sure do miss him.

Hi minnie_982214! Glad to know he is back. I, too will get worried while waiting for him. I guess, he enjoyed his stroll under the rain. He really took his time. Our pets are dogs too but we have this cat who frequents our house each night. We don't know who owns it but we feed him every night. I guess, he loves it being fed by us and each night for the past year, he comes regularly. Last December, he never showed up. We waited for him but no signs of him. It got us worried. Until now, he has not come and I am still wondering what happened to that cat. I just hope he is alright. Take care and have a nice day!

I'm glas he came home. I used to have a 3 legged cat that like to get out. He was in an accident when he was a little kitten and had to have one of his legs amputated. Anyhow he didnt realize that he was missing a leg and liked to chase the butterflies and he'd try to swat at them with his stump. I always worried when he got out but he always came home when he got hungry.

I always liked to watch my last dog from the window. She'd be outside of her dog house with her ears perked up looking around. She'd move her head from side to side and occasionally bark at some other animal. Not much of a story, be she was so darn cute!

That is so scary!!! I'm glad he came home safely though! I had a dog several years ago named Mickey. He was terrified of thunder and would run away whenever there was a storm. He had a tag on his collar with our phone number on it, so whenever there was thunder we'd get a call from someone (sometimes on the other side of town!) saying they found our dog. If you haven't done it already, you should consider getting your dog microchipped. That way if he runs away again and someone finds him, they can get your dog back to you even if he doesn't have a collar.

He never runs away so it was never a problem but I guess he just had to explore this time. I have never made him wear a collor but may start just to be safe so our number is at least on the tag.

I am glad that your dog came back. Your story reminds me of my dog. Its name is spike. Spike is a very cute Dwarf Pomeranian. We bought him for 20 grand. After 7 years of being with us, he was dognapped by one of our neighbor's visitors. Spike went out of our gate and it was already past midnight. A vehicle stopped and someone called out Spike's name. The anonymous guy picked up Spike and placed it inside the vehicle. Luckily, there was someone who witnessed the incident and reported it immediately to us but still we never saw our dog again. The culprit was denying the crime that he did. We bought a new dog. Its name is Molly. Molly is a labrador. We just hope that Spike is in good hands.

When I first got Gissi he was with me for 2 Months when he got out of the Door and before I could follow he had gone 3 of us searched everywhere for him after 2 hours I was in tears, as I also thought he had gone for good An hour later a Friend of my Daughters brought him home well she had to chase him home because he was still so scared of People then she could not pick him up When he come charging on the Drive way he jumped straight into my Arms and I held him tight I was so happy to have him back and he was happy to be back I found out where he had been, there was a Dog in season not so far away and he had been sitting in their Garden barking and sitting nice lol The thing is I thought I heard him bark but I could not figure out from where So I wonder if that is why your Dog disappeared lol as Dogs do that when there is a Dog in season you might find some cute Puppies on your Door in a few weeks lol

Hi Minnie, Yes I have a dog that was a stray. i think he is a sheperard mix. I just say he is a hines 57 lol Anyway i named him jack. Well when I go out to feed him, he will get in the dog house with his nose sticking out. He waits until one of the cats I have comes up and tries to get some of his food. Thats when old Jack will run out of the dog house chase the cat off. Then he will eat a little bit go back in the dog house and wait. Then he will do it again, and again. I always laugh at my pets and the games they play. funny hopw they can make up there own games isn't it.

A FEW years ago now we had a black lab. We adopted him as an adult. The people who owned him before said he had a problem with cars. We thought he chased them, so we tried to keep him away. Well, one day he pulled away from my youngest son and took off. We lived on a quiet side street a block away from a very busy street. He ran down our block, never hearing our calls to him to stop. When he got to the corner he paused for just a moment and then ran straight into the side of a car going by! It was the strangest thing I have ever seen, and I had a horse that played tag. Any time our Dusty would get away we would find him within a few blocks of home, running into cars. I don't to this day understand why. I also had a collie when I was a teenager. Her name was Lassie. She was my best friend and went everywhere with me. I used to do a lot of hitchhiking and she learned to hitch. She would sit in front of me and put her paw up when I would put out my thumb for a ride. She got me a lot of rides.
