My now husband and I were heavily involved in a chat room dedicated to chivalry and the Middle Kingdom...the first gift I ever gave him...I had very long hair at the time and I cut a substantail locket of my hair, tied it up with a ribbon and gave it to him. He was going through a lot in his personal world at the time and the "token" was to keep with him for luck, for comfort, to be reminded of my feelings for him etc...
