Syrup: Cold or warm?

Do you heat up your syrup before you put it on your pancakes or waffles? I don't like mine cold from the refrigerator but slighty warmed so my pancake or waffle won't get cold. So how do you like your syrup?

I like it room temperature. I love my MIL dearly, but one thing she does that still drives me nuts is storing her syrup in the fridge...to each their own, but...ICK! (We lived with them briefly on a couple of occasions which is the only reason I knew or even cared where she kept it...lol).

i can only eat pancakes at fastfood chains and usually, the syrup would be cold coming from the fridge. i don't mind it being cold since the pancakes are hot and if i put the syrup in it, the syrup would warm up anyway.

I don't bother to warm it up, because once it hits my pancakes or waffles (admittedly I don't have them often), it kind of warms up on its own. My parents always heat theirs up, and it's kind of an inexact science for them. I was always like, what's the fuss? Just pour it and eat!

I have been around some that heat it so much it burns your lips! Yikes! That wrecks the whole pancake experience! LOL

Call me weird, but I love cold syrup. I love the contrast of cold syrup on hot waffles or pancakes. I can't stand when it's warm. xD

I don't think of doing it either except when someone puts in the fridge.....I usually keep my in the cupboard but other visitors to my house think that's not safe conditions.

Yes jillhill, I put a glass with syrup and butter in the microwave and heat it until the butter is melted. My kids love it that way. Why put cold syrup on your nice warm pancakes?

Wow! You mix the butter and syrup together? That seems like a good idea!

I don't usually heat up my syrup, but I don't like it cold either. I just always leave my syrup at room temperature in the cupboard. I don't really take the time to heat it up before putting it on my pancakes or waffles, but I do think it tastes good warmed up sometimes. As long as my syrup isn't cold, then I like it! :)

When I was little I got ahold of a slice of pecan pie that had too much syrup and after that hated it. Here lately though I love syrup on my waffles and or pancakes and prefer to have it warmed.

Buggers.....isn't that the way it goes? I got sick on chinese food once...made me almost throw up everytime I even looked at it! Just lately I can eat stir fry again! But warm syrup is good!

I keep my syrup at room temperature. I don't like mine cold either, but I don't want it too hot. I also like my syrup with lots of butter in it.

I don't want it too hot either...it gets too thin and runny!

I like my syrup cold as well. My parents like theirs warm so when I am home and we have pancakes or waffles it is always alittle controversey. Usually we just get two bottles. We stick one in the microwave and the other in the refrigerator. The heat of the pancake and the coolness of the syrup is delicious. Another thing that is good on pancakes is peanut butter and jelly. Now I'm hungry for some pancakes.

We don't keep the syrup in the refrigerator at my house. We keep it in the cabinet so it's just fine that way. I don't heat it or anything. I like both corn syrup and maple syrup on my pancakes or waffles. So good..
