For what reason did you buy your cellular phone?

Some buy cellphone due to necessity and just buy those with simple features with just the ability to call and sms/text. But some are gadget frenzy that they buy their cellphones for the features they love and are looking for. I bought mine for the music, radio and camera features. I like most the camera features as it functions like an ordinary digicam. So what consideration did you make in buying your cell phone? « Gab »

The reason my husband and I have cell phones is because it was too expensive to have a home phone in the house. Every single place we called to from our house was long distance and we just got tired of it and checked out the prices for us to each have our own cell phone. My cell phone is on my husbands plan. It is a whole lot cheaper for us to have a cell phone. So for years now that is what we have been using. So I would have to say for us it was out of necessity so that we could cut our phone bill down. And it worked beautifully.

I bought my phone to primarily keep in touch with my family. I have a fiance that loves to check in. I have two teens and one preteen that I require them to call me when they get where they are going and when they are on thier way home. And if they are gone for a while to check in randomly. I love knowing they have them if they are at the park with friends; they can call me or 911 if anyone should scare them. We have luckily never required the 911 call, but it makes me feel better. I have a family plan so it is not too much money;we all text mostly so I got unliimited texting. ITs great. I have the camera and send photos too!!

I bought that new Jitterbug for "older" people because it is so simple. I have had problems using my daughters' phones so when I got ready to buy my own, one of my daughters sent me the information for the Jitterbug. Since it is so simple and doesn't have anything on it but the phone, it was all that I needed. I don't need a camera or texting on the phone, so I went with it and it has been fine for the amount of time that I spend on the phone. I have been told that it is a little more expensive than other phones and that the minutes are also more expensive but I didn't have to buy any kind of plan and I still have free long distance and can call almost anywhere in the US and Canada and I don't use it very often anyway. If I forget my number, it is printed right on the phone and the numbers on it are larger and lit up so they are easier to see. It has worked out fine for me.

it's such a coincidence that my phone is the same one as the icon of this discussion topic. :p i'm using the motorola x3 series. it's two years old but i have no intention to change it yet. got it initially as it's about the only 3G phone around that's not nokia. i've had very good experience with motorola so see no point changing. it's also very slim and comes in a nice colour. it's important that it's a clamshell too.

I bought mine, which is very very basic, when I saw it on special offer at the local supermarket. I wanted mine to be a phone - not a camera or a radio. I may be old-fashioned but to me a phone should be just that, a phone and I use a camera to take photos and the radio for music and news.

My cell phone is a fairly plain simple cell phone. It dosen't have all those fancy features like music and that in it I guess I can get tv but that seems stupid to have tv on your cell phone. I just wanted to be able to call and receive calls on my cell phone that was good enough for me.

for me, having a cellphone nowadays is truly a necessity. for one, because you get to keep in touch and a tool for communication. i can't really afford to buy those high-tech cellphones which are out in the market, but at least i have one which is reliable and that is what's important for me.

I do agree with you my friend same is here i bought my cell for its features like camera, bluetooth and music edition, and most important is the battery as it gives a good backup, without it i can't enjoy the features of the cell. The main attraction of my cell is the music edition and its speaker are far better than the other models available in the market so all these things let me to go for this cell and my cell is N-73 with new music edition and it is the best for me and i am satisfy with my cell.

I bought my cellphone because iwanted to make sure that I was always reachable to my husband, who is working and living in the USa, while I'm still up here in Canada. Very few people have my cellphone number. It's mainly there for us to use, and no one else.

My original reason for getting a cellphone was for emergencies. I think anyone who does any traveling alone, especially at night, needs a cellphone in case of a breakdown or even if they get lost. I've never gotten into the text message craze but my next phone will be a camera phone. I never actually "bought" a cellphone, I've gotten them for free in various promotional offers. Now I can get free phones plus get a good rebate since I've signed p with TMI Wireless. Annie

i bought my cellphone because i needed it. my old one suddenly won't work anymore so i immediately bought a new one. when buying a phone, i'd go for quality features at a reasonable price. my new phone has a wifi feature, 2mp cam which isn't bad and it comes with an ample memory too.

I bought my first mobile phone to call people and to play Snake. I bought my second phone, because my old one broke and I bought it to call, text and use the camera. My new phone I bought because it looked pretty and it was on a good contract with loads of texts and some free minutes.

Mine was given by the company and was used for business and emergency purposes. I used to buy one unit and I consider looking for some modern features like camera, radio and video.
