What kind of wedding cake did you have or would like to have someday?

A neighbor of my parents brought a couple of pieces of wedding cake over to their house yesterday. His daughter had just been married, and he wanted to share some of the cake with my parents. It was lemon cake with some yummy white icing. What kind of wedding cake did you have? Did you even have one? If you haven't been married, do you have one in mind for the big day that may come?

We got married abroad (in Antigua) so it was traditional antiguan rum cake and they iced it for us in pink and white to match the colour scheme we had - it was the best tasting cake i've had had that wasn't actually chocolate and we still say if we go back we'd have to go and buy one just to eat as it was so nice!! We didn't have a party when we came home as money was too tight but we were going to have a big cake there and it was going to be chocolate sponge with pink and white icing so really the only difference was that it ended up being rum cak and not chocolate!!

That sounds like a lot of fun. It's sounds like you made a party out of it even if money was tight. Good for you!

We had a cake, and did the cutting of the cake. Hubby promised no bad cake problems, as we'd seen at many weddings. He just dabbed a little on my nose. It was a beautiful cake with two tiers. The top tier we kept for ourself for our first wedding anniversary (yuck!). The cake tasted wonderful. The bakery that made it is out of business and I haven't been able to find anywhere that makes the same kind of cake (a checkered chocolate and yellow cake). The outside was done in white, with accents in teal and purple (our wedding colors). The cake topper had a teddy bear bride and groom. Great, now I'm craving cake!

mine was a white cake with little pink flower on the side, it was just your average vanilla cake that you find in the bakery for weddings.

I didn't have a wedding, or a cake, but my husband's aunt had a cake business for a while, and her specialty was wedding cakes. I used to stop in at her place, and she would always load me down with cake samples. She made some pretty fancy looking cakes. Her shop always smelled so good too. My favorite cakes have fresh strawberries and whipped cream.

Some of the cakes are brilliant nowadays,I love the new fashionable ones, the ones made from a tower of fairy cakes are really good. The ones that you see in the magazines now are wonderful. If I was going to have one again I would have a tower of profiteroles, they are yummy. My own cake was a two tier fruit cake ,iced traditionally and it has ribbons around it,with flowers on the top.

My husband and I eloped in Arizona, and had a small party for our friends, at which we served a white sheet cake for our wedding, with our names writing on it in red icing, and with our flags. It was really nice. We are going to have another cerimony in Canada, with a Danish marzipan cake, built up like a tpwer, with flags and lowers on it.

We had a beautiful cake made into the shape of a cathedral. It was really gorgeous and delicious. It was 6 or 7 individual cakes that were so moist and had 4 different fillings...raspberry, hazelnut, lemon, and Italian cream.

I had some friends that had a homemade spice type cake with white icing. Most of the wedding's I've been to have store made white cakes. If I were to marry and have a wedding cake, what I ate would have to be made with special icing so it didn't have corn starch in it. This corn allergy is a PITA!

I've never been married, but my partner and I are working towards getting the money together for a simple wedding, like when our kids are all grown up and we are old and unable to keep up! lol. I'm not sure what cake we would have. Probably something really simple but pretty at the same time. Flavours? Well, I'm still having terrible food cravings, and the worst is sweet chilli, but I don't think that would be good in a cake! lol. Mmmmm, chocolate does sound good though, maybe with the sweet chilli icing! Kidding! You really think I'd spoil the chilli sauce like that! lol.

I myself had a traditional fruit cake one for the bottom tier and the middle and a sponge cake at the top but all iced the same but to cater for those that don't like fruit cake, but my old boss and his wife as they were getting married in Devon had a giant scone cooked and had jam and fresh cream in the middle and served the cake as a Devon Cream Tea, very novel and all enjoyed, strawberry jam too (I know you like strawberries LOL). Ellie :D

i am getting married in one month and i have the cutest wedding cake! it is actually a wedding cake made out of cupcakes. there are about 135 cupcakes, and 13 different flavors to choose from. they range from orange cream swirl to vanilla bean to carrot cake. they all have the same color icing and have a uniform design on them. i am so excited!

Congratulations! That is such a good idea too. My sister had a wedding cake with roses, and the decorator put little red dots around some of the layers. Well, her now husband said, "hey, those dots look like zits!" Needless to say, you don't say something like that to your bride without expecting her to start obsessing over that.

No, I didn't have a wedding cake,no reception, no bridal shower nothing we just went to the justice of the peace got married and that was the end of it. Our first cake was a cake I made for our first anniversary. I would have loved to have had a real wedding day with the works to have made me feel special and cherished but couldn't afford it. I wanted to redo my vows on our 10th anniversary but it didn't happen and I wanted to have the wedding day I didn't have when we were married. Lemon mmm, sounds delicious and delightful that is my favorite kind next to french vanilla cake.

I'd love some kind of chocolate cake. I'm not even sure about icing yet or anything but chocolate is definitely my favorite type of cake. Maybe a chocolate icing would be great too. Having a filling in the cake to compliment the chocolate cake would be nice too. But in all honesty I'd be happy with anything.

If I remember correctly it was a white cake with white and purple icing..I know today with people not liking white cake, (I love it because the only time I get it is at weddings.. ), they now have half and half, half white the other half chocolate..That is what my niece had at her wedding..
