We haven't had internet for 2 days. That's cruelty to me.

Hi guys. It's good my internet connection is back. My emails have gone wild. With so many unread new messages. I haven't visited my PTC sites and mylot so I have a lot of catching up to do. I really missed my activities in those two days and it felt like two years to me. What would be your life like without internet? By nature we can survive but it's going to be a revamp I guess. I played games and watched downloaded videos offline because I had no choice. In your case, what would you do whenever your internet is down?

I had been fond of TV shows and movie DVD's and I would spend most of my time just watching but when we bought this pc, this has been my new baby. I seldom watch TV now since the computer is so versatile but with some limitations too. I can watch programs and movies over here but still the live airing of programs and news updates is still what we may always get from the television unless it's a web simulcast but it's still rare as contrasted to television programming that does that half of the times.

What a horrible thing to happen. Can you believe enduring for days without going online? I would be climbing the walls, so yes I definitely agree with you and thoroughly emphatize with your experience. I don't own a TV and my main source of entertainment when I'm home is my laptop. Aside from normal reading, which is my other hobby, everything thing else that I do is online, so the idea of not being connected to the World Wide Web even for a day is giving me panic attacks. Well, I'm glad your service is restored and we will keep our fingers crossed that such a horrible thing will not occur again.

If it's possible, I wish, someone could invent a machine or a gadget that solves this problem just in case the internet connection acts out.

Well, back when we had an Ice Storm here about a yr. and a half ago, I was without internet connection for almost a week. It in reality was the longest week of my life, and I was having major withdrawals. We even lost power for a day and a half, as well. Since then, I have switched ISP's to where now most of the time if I am knocked offline, it might be only an hr. or two at the most. I do also have a laptop though now, so if I was without Internet or Power at home, all I got to do is go find WIFI somewhere and I am online. That should help out as well.

My husband and I are planning to get a laptop soon because we see the advantages. As regards to your ISP, how I wish, our ISP is as prompt as yours. But anyway, they fixed the connection not after one week but after two days and two nights. That's fair enough but if they could have fixed it before the day ended on it's first day, that would have been wonderful as I have not lost a lot of possible earnings I could be making online.

I have experienced similar scenarios and it is quite amazing how much you miss internet access. We do not realise it's value until we find ourselves without it, then suddenly we have a great deal of spare time on our hands.

I'm using the net to make money and it's business impacting to me. I also wanted to have spare time that's why I quit my job and decided to make money thru the net but I just felt bad when the internet problem got in the way a couple of days ago. I was so excited to wake up thinking I was going to make money again but then that internet problem came. But anyway, it's all behind me now.

hello Clowdine, I have experienced that last Monday, it was whole day that I lost my connection and I was so sad about it! I ended up mowing our loan and started my garden, since I am not really into movies not unless it will be my favorite stars!

Losing internet for just one day is such an ordeal. I just hope this doesn't occur to me again within the next 50 years (lol).

Yes Internet has become integral part of our lives. However, I am not quite much into it. I have just started and many days go by without it.

It's good if you have some other things to devote your time to like other hobbies perhaps but in my case, the internet has become a place where I can generate income. I realized the potential of using internet to conduct business so I am making the most out of it now.

Thanks for the response. That's true. We can do other things like house chores. What I just hate about losing internet connection is the monetary profit I should have gained because of the money making programs I joined and invested in. That means profit loss if I don't visit those sites in a day. But anyway, things really happen unexpectedly and we don't have control over them. And you're right. We just do what we got to do and make the most of what is available.

Hi Clowdine, nice to see you back after a couple of days! I have gone crazy in the past without Internet, and I am sure I will go crazy again. Though I do most of my work offline, I still love my Internet connection so that I can log in to my favorite sites. I wish you luck--you must be having loads of mail to tackle. Cheers and happy mylotting

That's true plus the weeds in my inbox. I can't stand losing internet because there's not much to do offline that would delight me. I don't like online games, much more if it's offline but you know what? My situation at that time, made me play solitaire, texttwist, letter linker, and whatword which I haven't done in a long time.

Only two days for you but I was without Internet for 6 months or more. I was posted by my company to their remote project site where power plant was being constructed. Thats why I was away from MyLot and Internet for such a long time. I still have alot to catch up to as I came back to my hometown in June.

I'd spend more time with my son which I have been very guilty of not doing lately. I'm tired from working and either he's in bed or I just want to relax, but I need to put all that aside for his sake. He should be more important than anything else. I helped him with a special school project tonight and that made me feel a bit better.

If it would mean more time with your son, that's a good reason to lose internet connection even for quite a while. When he grows older, and gets married, the internet may become your usual companion anyway.
