With all the constant hike in food and gas prices every day vacation cost are bound to have taken a significant leap as well. Will you be taking that vacation you have been planning for or will you hold back just incase the cash comes in handy later? Will you be making any significant changes to your spending habits?

My Fiance and I have already taken our vacation (although we left early because we were not pleased and felt homesick) but we do try to save as much as possible. Will it dampen our spending? Ofcourse it will.

Most definitely spending plans would be changing for us, well it's already started. We have taken our vacation for the year (well it was my sister in laws wedding) and won't be going on anymore that I know of. We are tightening up our budget and spending where we need to and hopefully begin to rebuild our savings account too.

Ah Maddy. These days we have to take it where we can get it and just make the best of it. Any one family event is now good for serving as the big recreation and vacation of the year. Things are certainly getting tighter everywhere. (lol)

I actually have 2 trips planned for the upcoming summer vacation. First, I have to drive my kids across my state to take a plane to spend the summer with relatives. Then, in August, I am driving about 1,500 miles(one-way) to pick them up and drive them home. I have considered all options and alternatives, and this is the best plan. Gas prices are only going to be reasonable in 1 of the states I have to travel through. When all is said and done, I will have traveled through 10 states.

Sounds like one heck of a two way journey Jessigirl. Also sounds like more of a vacation trip for the kids rather than for you. Ah ah ah. All parents go through that it seems and its all fun for the kids which makes it good. Lets hope and pray by some miraculous intervention gas prices take a plung by then.

It will be changing our spenind habits. We will not be going on our summer trip it would cost to much for the gas. I won't be going to my moms as much this year. I will be walking as many places as possible and we will not be buying alot of food we don't neccessarily need like junk food.

Soundslike some good measures to me. You should surely see some benefits there. As for me I have no idea whatelse to cut. I have been trying with this miserable electricity bill but to no avail so far. Thats main challenge at the mo as well as to get my home garden going so that I wont have to buy certain items at the market. Thanks for sharing Luvs.
