Anyone receive the rebate yet?

Just wondering about that rumor of rebate checks. Is it too good to be true? I had read on CNN money.com that we were to receive them according to the last digit of our social security number. It also said on the news Monday morning they had begun to be mailed out. Not to anyone I know! Has anyone received it? Is it just another broken promise by Uncle Sam? We'll soon see. dl

Yeah I want to know if anyone has gotten them yet. But on their website it said that the first ones to go out are the ones that want them through direct deposit to their bank. I didn't do that because I didn't have a bank at that time but I want to know who has gotten it. And then I heard that the checks are starting to go out in mid-may. I don't know but they say one thing and then they say another thing so I'm not really sure anymore. But I do hope I get mine. The last two digits of my SS is less than 20 so I'll hopefully be one of the first to get it through snail mail.

I heard that the direct deposited checks will be issued as of May 9. Also on May 9, the paper checks will begin. They'll be going by the last two numbers of your social. Figures mine is 90. LOL I dont know what to say about anything else. Everyone seems to have a different take on it. I do know people who have received it by direct deposit already. We'll have to be patient. Unfortunately, I have no patience. Especially when it comes to free money. LOL

I think they were supposed to start going out today, not sure if it will be by mail, or direct deposit for the ones they have on file w/ their tax returns. I hadnt heard it was monday I thought it was May 1st, but nope I havent gotten anything yet and my ss# starts w/ a 0 so I'm hoping it comes soon, if it comes. as w/ you we will see.

The mailed checks start the 9th of May. According to CNNMoney.com, they will be mailing a bunch of them. My sister works at a bank and she said there were so many calls about the rebates that they eventually had to call the IRS. The IRS said they'll begin mailing them as of Friday. So well see. I have friends that know people who have received checks by direct deposit.

Here's what I heard:
If you had your tax refund direct deposited and your social security number ends with 00-19 your rebate will hit your account by May 2. If your ss# ends with 20-69, you will have it by May 9. All others by May 16.
I believe checks will start to be mailed by May 16, also in order of ss#. Don't quote me on that date- I didn't pay as much attention to that because mine will be direct deposited.
I think we'll get them, but I can't say I'm confident of the amount. They were purposely vague on that detail.
