What helps you wake up in the morning

What helps you wake up in the morning, well in time? Is it natural that you get up automatically every morning or is it something else, besides alarm, which wakes you up? For example, chirpping of birds, sound of some music or something like that or a sound of a vehicle etc. Which of the event or happening acts as a morning alarm for you, besides your alarm clock or cell phone alarm?

I am a natural waker. Right from when I was 6 I was made to wake up early and do chores. And I got habituated and do not need anything to wake me up. I am fortunate to be thus and I am quite disciplined in that way. How do you get up?

It is really very nice that you can wake up without any kind of alarm etc. Do you get up at the same time throught the year, even when weather is cold? However, I cannot get up without any alarm, otherwise my sleep would go on and on.......and consequently I would become late for everything in the morning. Thanks for sharing.

I normally wake up on my own in the morning. Even when I was working away from home and had to be up at a certain time, I would set the alarm but would always be up before it went off. I didn't dare NOT set it though, because of course that is the day that I probably wouldn't wake up! Now that I don't HAVE to be up at a certain hour on any particular day, I wake naturally with the dawn or before. It's only in recent months that I've been able to sleep past 5:30 or so. Of course now that I've 'trained' myself to be able to sleep in a little, the cat now has a little trick. She climbs up the window screen outside of our bedroom! I can hear her scratching and it wakes me immediately and I have to go let her in. The landlord lives next door and he leaves for work about the time she's been performing this trick each morning, and he has full view of the front of our house when he backs out of his driveway. We're not supposed to have pets!

Alarm clock - Can you guarantee that you'll wake up on time for school/college/work without setting your alarm? I can't!
I set my alarm clock to wake me up for work every week day. I tend to wake up before the alarm goes off pretty much every day, sometimes hours before it goes off as I have quite a bad sleep pattern, the slightest noise or sound can wake me up which is very frustrating. Regardless of me knowing that I'll 99% of the time wake up before the alarm goes off, I still religiously set the alarm (on my mobile phone) every night as I just know that day I don't set the alarm is going to be the day I actually sleep right through LOL!

My alarm usually wakes me, but if that does not work, my cat usually jumps on my head and that gets me up!

My cell phone alarm wakes me up on the school days. On weekends, it's either my kids or my dog. My kids for some reason wake up early, when they don't have to go to school. My dog has a weird way of waking me up, she will grab my foot and lick it, until I wake up. She has pulled my hair once to wake me up. Talk about having to go potty so bad, you pull hair to go out. Once I'm up, I have a soda and a cig, then I'm ready to face the day of doing everything I do every day.

No wake up call for me. At 6 am I am awake, just stay in bed for a while and get out of bed. Either take a bath after sipping hot coffee or take breakfast. Do clean the dishes and ready for work. On weekend I stayed late in bed and get out of bed around 9 am. But if I have some early appointments, I set my alarm ahead of 30 mins. on my scheduled waking up.

aside from my mom's loud voice shouting 'wake up' hhmmm...my dogs stepping atop of my tummy. i know this is bad but i sometimes grab my dogs in their neck and just throw them out of the room---and i'll just catch some more zzz's. but when my mom comes in the room, i better get up quickly. i might be the one being thrown out of the room.

WEll I am just a student and all I can say is that I am already used to waking up very early in the morning so that I won't get late in my classes but there are times usually that I am not able to wake up early and all I need to do especially when there are tons of homework is that I will use my alarm clock on my cellphone or I will let my brother wake me up because he do really stays up until dawn. Actually, it is really likely that I do really love to sleep so I take time to have some naps in the afternoon while I can. It is really hard but I need to do it so that I could still obtain the normal sleeping hours. Have a great time... ^_^

Hi Deepak! I do not need anything to wake me up. I just wakeup automatically at 5-30 irrespective of what time i have gone to bed. It had been like that for ages now. But i would appreciate a hot cup of coffee immediately after i wake up.

I normally tell myself what time I need to wake up prior to going to bed and then wake up and stare at my clock until it is time to get up. On those days that I am very tired and do not have to go anywhere, I may stay in bed longer. I have sometimes stayed in bed until a crow came into the yard outside of my apartment and started his "Get up, Get up" squawking. I must admit that this squawking is annoying and makes me laugh at the same time.

So either it is your hubby's call or compulsion of cooking breakfast for your siblings, which force you to wake up early. If it is a holiday, then do you get up early or you get up later than the normal? Thanks for sharing.

well, actually, it's still compulsory to me to wake up early because my husband and I will talk on the phone early in the morning here and night in the US so whether it's holiday or not, I must wake up early..hehehe..but sometimes, if I slept late especially friday nights(I sleep late every friday because of mylotting) I will wake up 8 or 9 in the morning..
