We all know that our economy is down. Where does the blame go? Illegal immigrants, they are using tax money, getting this and that. How to fix the problem? Kick them out. But do you guys really think that this is the problem? I can tell you where is the problem? When war start it and the soldiers needed toothbrushes, blankets, food etc... you want to know what happened? All these companies that supply stuff the the gov, have to bid on the contracts, the lowest bidder wins. Do you think that they were offering the gov 100 toothbrushes for $10.00? Nope they offer them for like $300.00, blankets $150.00 a piece the ones that you can get for $5.00 the most 20.00 at a store. But what did the gov did? They accepted this, because they really needed the supplies. All these companies became really rich. The real reason, that we have a low economy IS WAR and all the Companies that took advantage of the lack of manage from the Gov. Cheap stuff were sold so overprice to the Gov, they didn't care the gave the money for it. Now what does the Gov. does? Blame the immigrants for it and citizen's will agree that they are the problem for our low economy, because US citizen's don't like illegal immigrants and everyone gets fool again. I'm not saying that the fact that we have illegal immigrants in the US is Ok. No I'm not saying that, I'm saying the government shouldn't hide behind someone else.

I believe it's a mixture of alot things that has caused the economy to go down, Iraq is one. People buying houses they cannot afford is another. Yea the loan companies helped them, but the people themselves are to blame also. Now I think that I can point some blame at the immigrants for the lack of jobs. There are just too many people living in the US and more are coming everyday. Most are illegal and do not pay taxes, but the US seems to think that we should give them all the benefits of the people who actually pay taxes. Therefore the government is giving more money out then they are receiving. Yes the government does not manage money wisely and every year they cannot account for millions/billions of dollars. But I believe that these people who break the law should be rewarded. That would be like me speeding and driving wrecklessy then the cop pulling me over and giving me money for doing it. The US should get their priorties straight. Do we want to support the illegals or do we want to support the americans. and before anyone goes into the fact that everyone in the US is an immigrant I would say yea my family came over to the US along time ago, but I pay taxes just like everyone else that lives the US legally does. In summary I think the war should end, we should secure the borders and check every suspected immigrant's status and ship them back to where they came from, limit the number of people who can come over here legally and put in place a committe(non government) to watch over the government spending to make sure they are doing what they are supposed to.

I agree with you in a lot of points. The one that I don't agree but I cannot also tell you that everyone does, is on paying taxes. There are immigrants with no legal documents that do pay taxes. The government gives then a "TIN" number just like we get a social security number they get TIN number. With this card, they do their taxes at the end of the year, if they have to pay they pay if not they get money back, the difference is: this card is not like social security there are no retirement benefits (which my generation won't have when we retire) is strictly just for doing taxes at the end of the year.

You've got it spot on, the war is the real cause of the poor economy in the US but will your government stop and take a step back? I strongly believe that a public referendum should be held when a country decides to go to war. It effects everyone and it is not right that a select few at the top make such an important decision. It is scary how so many people are being effected because someone like Bush managed to cheat his way into power. Apologies for digressing a little but I am really mad right now!

Of course it's war. Any idiot (including out illustrious leader Bush) can see that. We are spending millions of dollars on home land security, over seas troops and defense. There's no money left for anything else. Illegal immigrants are small potatoes compared to our defense budget. I worked in a field that relied on government grants for environmental research. Let's just say, the money wasn't flowing in like a river. It was being spent on pencil sharpeners for out troops over seas. Support the troops, not the war.

i agree with you that the government should not blame the illegal immigrants for the economic crisis that the country is facing now. i also agree that there are repurcussions if illegal immigrants continue to enter the country. but as leaders of the country, they should focus more on the solutions than the problem. the thing with the government is that up to now, they are still in denial that the economy is in recession. if they would only admit the problem, they could then take the necessary steps to save whatever they can. denying the economic woes won't make the country in any better position. they want to show the world that a big country cannot crumble down and yet they are not doing anything to help out. the more bickering and side stepping they do, the more the problem will get bigger. it is time to take a stand, admit that there is a problem and move on to the solution. there is no better way but to step forward and move on than keep on looking back and blaming economic problems on illegal immigrants.
