We are having a Parents' Night Out at our church. My husband and I work with the Children's Ministry and we have one about every month. The parents can bring there children up to age 11 and leave them so they can have some time together. We have bouncy blow up thingys that they can get inside of and jump until their hearts are content. We won't have as many of them this time. The older ones usually end up playing some basketball too. The smaller one, like toddlers, love to just run in the gym. We have pizza and FUN! I am trying to think of other things that they can do to change things around since we won't have all the bouncy jumpy things this time. Oh, by the way, we aren't the only ones there to play and watch over the kids. We usually have some of the youth of the church and then two couples that are great helpers also. Your suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

I was just thinking maybe you could find some of those old fashioned hula hoops that the kids used put around their waists and sort of do a hula dance to keep the rings going. kids had a lot of fun doing that and everyone was always laughing at the contortions it required .Then there are some easy old games that kids like such as playing statue. the kids would be running around just acting silly then someone yells statue and they must freeze in the silly positions they find thenselves in.

Thanks for your suggestion. I went to the store and bought some hula hoops and jump ropes. It will be funny to see the kids try to hula hoop but funnier to see me and my hubby try to remember how to hula hoop. thanks for the post.

We had a lock-in where we watched movie, popped popcorn and other snacks. They had a lot of fun! Another lock-in we played board games like Twister, chutes and ladders, yatzee and the like. That was a HUGE success! I think they like it because they had choices of what games they could play. How about a scavenger hunt? Those are always a lot of fun. Whatevr you come up with, I am sure you will all have a lot of fun!!
