Do you play darts, either for fun casually, or in an organized league?

I am interested to know if this game is as popular in your area as it is becoming in mine. I believe there is a trend towards more popularity world-wide but just thought I would try to get a better idea through myLot. Thanks.

I enjoy playing darts. My partner use to play for a pub team. He also played when he lived in Ireland and got quite far as well, it was and still is very popular there. Alot of the pubs in my local area have dartboards and dart teams womens, mens and mixed team. It is very popular here in the UK.

Thanks littleone. Actually, I should have asked as well what is considered good enough scoring to play on a team out in public. On an average day, it takes me about 24 darts to double-in, score, and double-out. On a good day, I can do the same with about 15 darts. Do you think that it would be worth competing publicly (on teams) with performance like this, or would that be just embarrassing myself?

I love darts. Dont worry about how good you are, learn the games and rules and have fun. I used to live in Oklahoma, USA where darts are very popular, but I moved back to Indiana and noone here plays so I havn't for about 3 years.

Ah, I am originally from Southborough in Kent. I'm sure if I were still there, I would be frequenting a pub or two, if only for darts. Hi.

If you can finish your games between 15 and 24 darts you can walk into pretty much 95% of the darts teams in the UK !!!! Double start as well ? You are playing a very high level indeed. Me and my playing partner managed a 15 dart leg (straight start) a couple of weeks ago and that was the best we have ever managed. Played well enough that night to get through to the next round of the pairs knockout so we were very happy. 15 dart legs dont happen too frequently in our leagues.

My better half and I started playing semi-seriously about a year and a half ago (fairly regularly) when the Canadian winter started in 2006 and haven't stopped yet. We play on average three double-in double-out games of 301 a day (usually in the evening). I play against cousin and friends in between usually in the day. It sounds like a lot, but the games don't last that long so an hour a day covers this. Each of us has probably throw (rough calculation) about 10,000 darts a year. We are on our second board now and have rotated it twice since January (Christmas gift to us). It's a razor wire with no staples and we love it. Anyway thanks heaps for the opinion. p.s., I have a very short dart story if you're interested in a laugh. It's at http://www.authspot.com/Short-Stories/Short-and-Sweet.106861 and some of my dart ideas at http://www.quazen.com/Games/Become-a-Better-Dart-Player.99634

I have only played darts a few times - it is fun, but I'm not really good at it.
