I answered a discussion an hour ago and made a jokey response. i then checked thier profile and discovered they have not replied to a single response in an entire page of discussions. i then went back to the discussion and added a response on someone elses response highlighting that they would get more responses if they put an effort in. (it was ironis as it was a discussion asking for people to give them more than 30 replies!) 10 mins later i got a friends request!!!!!!! Have you ever had such a crass request?

I just opened a friend request from a 16 year old boy and I'm not, repeat not, going to accept it. Too tempting! No, just kidding, truly, but I thought it was funny. This kid is into nothing but games, as it would appear from his profile and I just have no interest in him or his games, frankly, so I'm gonna let it sit and see if he pulls it. I have another one too that's sitting, from someone who's username is their website or something and it's like, yawwwwwn, no thanks. Do people get paid for getting friend requests accepted? Is that why? Someone tell me, 'cause I can't figure out why these people would want me as their friend. YOU know how I am -it doesn't make any sense. ANd if they bothered to look at my profile and my discussions, they'd know. They guy you're talking about sounds just like the ones who request me! Yuck, who needs em?

i think they think they will get massive responses with the more friends they have. i wiped out 80% of my friends list and still get the same amount of responses. i think we are lucky if 10% of our friends regularly respond to one another. luckily we have a great set of friends!

It's annoying when people don't respond to your comments, i know sometimes when i really busy it might be a day or 2 before i do respond. I always make sure i do. What a cheek that they requested you to be a friend, i would have and then told them how this site works. It's nice getting feed back, especially if your feeling a bit down, it gives you a boost. It's like when you get a letter through the post, unless it's a bill. It's nice that people want to be a part of what your thinking or feeling. I might check that other discussion out to see what they have to say. Thanks for this post.

Hello there bro. I have certainly come across such users and I tend to take the "ignore" approach and would certainly reject their friends' requests, because I think it just defeats the purpose of them being in mylot. mylot is all about participation and helping others' out with their discussions as well, and if they are just out to earn, earn and earn without so much a reply or a comment, then I think it is time for them to move on.

From day one I have always responded to every comment I have had on a discussion and can't understand people who don't but this one asking for so many replies but not themselves yes I agree totally ridiculous. Did you accept even if to nuture and teach the right way of doing things on here? Ellie :D

The person has obviously no time to be bothered taking part in a discussion but simply submit them in order to get responses. They also add a friend request for every member that posts in the belief that this will boost their earnings. We both know that this does not work, and they are also missing out on the value of Mylot by not participating. I suspect this member will soon disappear.

I wasnt going to post to this discussion but I do have something to add. I made a discussion about mixed drinks. This one person replied and I liked what they put. I replied with an answer. Still they havent replied. Mind you they have over 1,000 post. I even tried to add them as a friend to remind them of the post, they have me pending-pending for a week. What they heck? Is it worth my time? Really pisses me off.

I'm new in Mylot so I haven't seen much of those as of yet. Maybe in the long run. I'd still add them to my friend's list though. People have their reasons for joining Mylot. Who are we to judge them? ;)
