The rich will suffer more if things collapse

It is my opinion that the rich would be in more trouble than the poor, if the bottom fell out tommorrow. Why you ask? Well the poor are more accustomed to surviving with little or nothing. And some of the poor already live like this now.The ones who don't are still wiser and have better survival instincts. The rich will not have much of a clue as to what to do without that money and life style they have always had.

yes what you said is right. That happens when you get used to luxury. If you have not tasted luxury and lost it you will not know or understand that. I have and I can understand what marchgale is talking about. I had got used to having and going about in a car from the day I had known travelling. We used to go wherever we wanted with our parents, travelling in a car as a family and enjoyed every moment. Even for going shopping or wherever I wanted in a car with a driver to take us. Even after my wedding I carried on a similar life I never had any problem. Suddenly one day I got into bad time. I lost everything and the car went along. I had to walk or get an auto wherever I went. I had even travelled in a transport bus here . I can't tell you how much I suffered without knowing why I had to go through . Now we have got the car but I know how to travel and do not treat it as a necessity now, only a luxury which might go anytime. All the best

I don't believe that rich people would be affected too much by an economic collapse because, in order to be considered rich, one must have money and an economic downturn can't take that money away. There won't be a repeat of the Great Depression with banks collapsing so these people would still have their money even if the country sunk into a recession. I think that low and middle income families would suffer the most because most people in those catagories don't have enough, if any, money in savings for emergencies. They live paycheck to paycheck and a sudden loss of income would cause a serious situation for them. They would be most at risk to become homeless.

That, and the poor would prolly hate them and in this scenario there'd be riots, and they'd prolly come raiding the rich people's fancy houses. Some of them, with the foresight to see things are getting pretty bad these days are preparing..but I don't know whether or not to pity those who're too blind to see it coming.

If you are poor you will not be very happy. It is good to be in the middle class or to work for the rich people, e.g. to be social responsible. Some rich people who are having companies must be social responsible to the society and environment.
